Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!

Bang on, service is everything for a striker. The three mentioned all would attempt the difficult ball and certainly not renage on the more simpler through ball. It requires the striker and provider to be on the same wavelength.  It was suggested on MOTD that there hasn’t been enough time spent on the training ground, this maybe the case, our sheer games volume will have made it more difficult to work on rectifying faults all of us see evident, I’m pretty sure Tuchel will be aware similarly, but will have to prioritise training towards the next match such is the busy schedule. We clearly do have a problem on quick delivery, preferring to constantly recycle possession and any striker will suffer under these conditions…they stop making the runs. Lukaku though has to put far more effort into attacking space and demanding the ball. Just one thought the two occasions that he was caught offside, delivery was good , if a fraction tardy resulted in two shots on target, one a goal. It shows if we can get it right as a team our output will improve

It really beggars belief, that Tuchel is coaching this fundamental part of Chelseas’ attacking MO, these guys are paid to be the best, when I played(Very amateurish), this seemed the norm, possession based play doesn’t always win games, especially if you don’t seem to show an end product, and every media pundit, and our fans can see this, if this is TTS way, it stinks, and some fans, and it’s their prerogative to like the win at any costs way, Chelsea are better than that……I hope🤔

Apparently he's been dropped for tonights match.

People need to remember that we are officially the best team in the world currently so it's only logical that Not Emile Heskey is the world's best centre forward.

If he has anything and i mean anything about him he will return in the cup final or away to Luton (hopefully the latter) chomping at the bit to right this wrong and earn his spot back. Just like the guy he supposedly idolised did whenever his place was lost/threatened.

Unfortunately history suggests he will do the total opposite.

Tonight's a great start but I can't help but worry he only has to do the mere basics to 'win' his place back.

The trajectory off that pass to Lukaku is straight out of Roy of the Rovers.

That settles it, to get the best out of Lukaku we need to sign Duncan McKay and Vic Guthrie!

And tonight’s game shows why Lukaku is hindering our progress as a team. I think that Tuchel, as all Chelsea fans have seen, will recognise that our attack is so much more fluid and we actually play some good football without him that it doesn’t pay to play him. Maybe against Luton, but please no more Lukaku in important games.

Looking at the last 2 games it is hard to make a case for starting Lukaku on Sunday now. I suspect Tuchel will start with Havertz again. Lukaku back for Luton perhaps.

Tuchel has hinted he's back in on Sunday which will be infuriating.

It will be bordering on sabotage if he starts.

Havertz should be given all the trust. In his first half against Lille he had 5 touches inside the enemy box, basically the same as Lukaku's all touches against Palace excluding the kickoff and offside. Wouldn't make any sense to keep Havertz in and out of the starting lineup, with him we have a chance to develop into a good attacking squad.

Hard to beat Liverpool at our very best at the mo as they are flying. Impossible to do so with passengers, even worse is one of them is Lukaku.

Mason Mount and a “Chelsea fan” enjoying the opening goal.

Hmm kinds expected that to be off Roms Twitter with the caption of "the things I do for 325k a week"
