Think if we can his loan will be ended in Jan. Feel for the guy but he is clearly 5th or 6th choice and makes me wonder if TT even wanted him.

He probably did but overestimated him and underestimated the others.

As brilliant a coach as Tuchel is his record in the market isn't great.

Well I guess nobody is perfect, though as had been said in the Lukaku thread leaves a much larger concern with a a near 100mill man than a loan player.

Which is odd given that he appears to be quite a good judge of ability.

He's made good calls with Chalobah, RLC and to a lesser extent with Barkley this season. He's been happy to pick them ahead of the "big names" in the squad.

So you'd have thought that he'd be good at helping spot some players that go under the radar when it comes to recruitment.

Doesn't deserve to be disrespected but at this point you just got to send him back to Spain really.

Clearly not cut out for english football. He barely looks like a footballer at all if i'm completely honest and todays performance was one of the worst i've ever seen at this club.

It's not often to see a player play once and come to the conclusion that they aren't good enough, but that was how I felt watching Saul when he played against Aston Villa, and he hasn't improved a single bit in 3 months.

He is totally out of his depth and you can see why Atletico Madrid don't want to play him in their midfield. He wouldn't just struggle with Premier League football, but he would struggle at any level in England because he can't adapt to the intensity.

Once again he was completely off pace. Probably it is more of a mental barrier and not about ability, as we all know what he's capable of. He was really disappointing tonight, it looked like his thoughts were wandering through a parallel universe. I genuinely feel sorry for him.

Not sure about his future here, moving back to Spain in January may be the best solution for both us and him...

Who else entered the ‘pull a blue shirt on competition’? Not sure any of the other participants could have done much worse! That was an awful performance by a supposed top class professional player. Pay Madrid up and return to sender…defective goods.

The fact they were happy to allow him to come here on loan should have been a red flag in itself.

Compare that to how they tried so hard to resist letting Partey go, night and day.

I don't get it, he's been Atletico's first choice for years, even last season but now they decide to loan him out. Something must have happened and we signed someone in poor form.

Imagine another top club getting Ivanovic in 15-16 on loan, it would be something like that. Why did we go for this guy?

Reminded me a few years ago when Bakayoko was at this game, couldn't pass, couldn't control the ball, and 2 yellow cards in about 1/2 hour. I was so relieved we made it to HT without him being sent off, would have put Kepa on for him. Maybe he's not right for this formation, or simply not up for it. Send him packing is the best way out.

The most damming thing is I can't think of a single positive attribute he brings to the table and it's the first time I have felt like that with a player since Torres.

Werner's been a disapointment over all but we can use his pressing, movement and pace tactically. Morata was sh*t overall but he had movement and ariel ability. Even Bakayoko and Drinkwater had a few upsides to them.

But there's not a single thing with Saul I look at and think "alreast he has that despite everything".

He is good on the air, that is all I got.
