September 1, 20232 yr One of those instances where we'll either regret selling him or regret keeping him. He'll be a really good player after developing through sufficient game time, but he isn't going to find that here. Edited September 1, 20232 yr by Fatty_Speeding

Right now TalkSport are saying that Bayern failing to get the Chalobah deal over the line before the German 5.00pm transfer deadline, has hugely helped Tottenham's chances of landing Gallagher. Bayern have had a nightmare deadline day. Apparently the Paulinha deal with Fulham has also fallen through despite him having completed his medical in Munich.

Well, I guess Bayern only have themselves to blame leaving it all to the last minute. They could have signed Trev weeks ago. Also a shame we got a bit greedy and started quoting £50m for him. The only offers on the table are half that, and I can see Chalobah binning off the Forest interest. We might have to try and sell him again in January. Edited September 1, 20232 yr by Sexyfootball
September 1, 20232 yr TalkSport also now reporting that Maatsen doesn't want to go to Burnley and that with Chelsea needing to recoup some funds, Gallagher is our last card and him going to Spurs looks likely if they meet our valuation.
September 1, 20232 yr Not sure it's that simple. Spurs want to move on Hojbjerg but he doesn't want to go to Fulham. Edited September 1, 20232 yr by dermott
September 1, 20232 yr Shame he couldn’t of gone abroad, I’m all for not reinforcing our north London and top 6 EPL rivals , but Todd bless the silly Berkshire hunt is clueless about what that means to us fans, it’s all dollars and cents to that chump and without risking to sound like a tape loop Connor is the last opportunity to add another 45 mill pounds profit to the books. May as well sell all the yoof facilities and land at Cobham next that will generate a fair few quid for next years accounts. Edited September 1, 20232 yr by General grammer I fink 😅
September 1, 20232 yr Why are we even considering it? Gallagher has started all 4 games for us this season, so clearly Pochettino is a fan. So I am going to assume the owners are just desperate to sell to make some money. Here's something they could have considered, how about not signing a sh*t load of young players for obscene amounts of money?
September 1, 20232 yr Bear in mind that selling Gallagher is, at this point, still media- and twatter-driven.
September 1, 20232 yr Palhinha move to Bayern off apparently, so Hojbjerg could rejoin Bayern? Selling players deemed surplus to Spurs fair enough, but selling Connor to Spurs is just madness. For FFP cut losses on Mudryk instead, plenty more fish in the sea - Gnonto on loan? Edited September 1, 20232 yr by the special one
September 1, 20232 yr Just tell spuds to stick their money,Gallagher shouldn't be made scape goat because other deals fell through. Edited September 1, 20232 yr by Bluesince66 Spelling mistake

September 1, 20232 yr If we sell Gallagher, and to those barstewards from north London, it will royally piss me off. He’s got a place in this team, he’s played all games and was captain in the cup, so it’s obvious that Pochettino rates him. I’ve been supportive of the biard and think that they’ve been doing alright so far, but selling Connor would be unpardonable and I hope that the Bridge makes the right noise to Todd if they dare to sell him.
September 1, 20232 yr Conor Gallagher will remain at Chelsea this summer after being priced out of a move to Tottenham. #CFC (Simon Jones - @MailSport)

Conor was excellent in pre-season and we didn't have Caicedo until 2 weeks ago and Lavia is not yet ready to play. He earned his spot so cudos to Conor. If we need to sell due to FFP he is our best bet. He could accumulate 40m. If we get out of that trouble with selling him I understand club wanting to sell him. Looks like it is him or Maatsen. I think Maatsen fits our system much better than some what limited Gallagher. Conor was brilliant for Palace as their team was basically built around his skills. For this current squad I feel he is a slight misfit. If we don't sell him now he will be on the table January and next Summer I feel. I hope I am wrong because I really like Conor just not sure he is making us a better team.
September 1, 20232 yr This is fresh from the BBC live feed. There has been interest in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher throughout this transfer window. However, Gallagher has been a key part of Mauricio Pochettino's plans since he has taken charge at Stamford Bridge and has started all three of their Premier League games. There had been reports that a bid could tempt Chelsea to sell but the 23-year-old England international is going to be staying put at Chelsea.
September 1, 20232 yr Conor and his family are all Chelsea fans. It must hurt him and them to think our club would sell him to Tottenham of all f**king teams.

( possibly ) got ourselves in a position financially where we need to offload players .? buying young players on extra long contracts , then having to offload Conor to compensate isn't good for us.

It is for them though. Sell one of these lads for £40m which immediately bolsters FFP. By three generational wonderkids at £15m which you can span across multiple years and you have tripled your opportunity of repeating the process and increasing profits. A fundamental part of the farming process. The shame is of course that we will not really get the chance to develop an affinity with the kids or them with us. Break out season for Ugo? Woop de doo, off to market next summer you go. £45m equates to 20m profit in one year
September 1, 20232 yr This just on. Spurs did not follow up Gallagher interest' Simon Stone BBC Sport Conor Gallagher will remain at Chelsea after Tottenham’s interest failed to turn into a permanent deal. The England international was targeted by Spurs to bolster their midfield. However, it needed them to sell players, including Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. That did not materialise and as Gallagher had always made it clear he was happy to stay at Stamford Bridge, that is what will happen.

We lose our identity with this business model, I know it's the way the game is these days but it annoys the f**k out of me that our football clubs are seen as investment opportunities for millionaires to extract profits for themselves. Oh well. Come on you BLUES !
