Tell me on single other player still at the club who does that? please tell me. If he's sold for financial reasons ahead of some other dog turd players we have i'm done. 4 hours ago, Modueke said: Was saying the same to someone earlier on, it's exactly my thoughts, and a like on your post isn't enough! Selling Conor at this point proves that the club is purely interested in a financial position and business model. The guy wants to stay and play for the badge in a club he loves and has up'd his performances to reflect that! All this so-called project talk and they want to sell one of the biggest players that is part of that! It would be more bonkers than the Juan Mata sale and that was just Jose flexing back then, selling Conor would be insane! It shows the club has completely lost its soul, and people are going to start turning their backs, more than a lot already have since the sanctions! 3 hours ago, mojo said: if we sell Conor just to please the books or to buy two 16 years old 'world prospects' from Brazil, I am done with these owners. Some eyes being opened here. Maybe the sacrifice of losing Conor won't be in vain.

Perhaps that is another reason why we have had some more academy players added to the first team squad in recent weeks. They've been on the phone to Poch telling him we need to get a few more in the shop window for future years 😉
December 19, 20232 yr If we sell Conor it just mean we can't no longer consider it ourselves as a big club. Not even mid table PL team sell their starter this days unless the player want to go or they can get a significant upgrade 😂😂 Edited December 19, 20232 yr by Bob stark
December 19, 20232 yr Once Gallagher is sold, it won't be long before the academy kids figure out the future is to be sold for a profit. Thanks Roman, we still have some valuable assets to sell to fund the new owner
December 19, 20232 yr If all these things are true, imagine what it’s going to do to his confidence, they really haven’t thought this through well enough yet again! If they really are thinking about it, keep it between the board ffs!
December 19, 20232 yr So Poch sees him as untouchable (in the starting Xl) and the board see him as expendable. Both in the wrong for totally contrasting reasons

Both in the wrong for totally contrasting reasons The way I see it. Love Gallagher's emergence but we are genuinely building our football around him. Just posted a stat in the Enzo thread that he is covering the most ground out of all our midfielders, which means he is seeing the ball less and less. Gallagher against Everton had the most touches. What is Poch doing?

What is Poch doing? The main reason I won't lose sleep if he's relieved of his duties, the way he's got people uniroinically thinking Enzo is average is bordering on how Lampard had people thinking Rudi was a dud. Only reason I'm not actively wanting it right now is I don't trust Clearlake to find the right replacement, certainly not on an interim basis anyway after the last season.

Apparently they've got a teenage wonder kid there that we're " monitoring" . Europe is full of our young promising stars. Hopefully we'll see em at the Bridge one day before we have to sell em on to comply with FFP 😁😁
December 19, 20232 yr According to The Standard, Poch said Conor is important because of " his Chelsea values, he's an Academy product , understands the club and is very committed" The WAGNH site has a fuller quote

December 19, 20232 yr Was superb today I thought. Has a few ups and downs, but all part of the growing into his game though.
December 19, 20232 yr His decision making is dreadful gets in promising positions then gets his wires crossed. He still had a really good game just need to think quicker play smarter
December 19, 20232 yr if they sell hope he becomes one of the best just to stick it mile high up to theirs …………
December 19, 20232 yr On the ball, he is one of the worst in the team. Praise his work rate all you like, but it's a glaring issue that cannot be ignored. A lot of our attacks break down when he is involved in the build up play because he doesn't have the ability to make a pass that can hurt teams. Edited December 19, 20232 yr by Scott Harris

Gallagher only looks like he is working harder than others because he runs all over the place. His positional play is actually pretty terrible. Somebody like Rodri for City will do what Gallagher does much more effectively without sacrificing his position or ability on the ball. As much as we can admire Gallagher's work rate, everything I see about him screams mid table player. He's not doing anything more than what I see from teams fighting for their lives, like Luton's players.
December 19, 20232 yr I sat on the fence about him for a long time but he has completely won me over this season. When he doesn't play we really miss him IMO. He isn't Kante quality defensively but who is? He isn't Lampard quality from an attacking sense but who is? He is usually the player that covers the ground, sets our tempo and contributes all over the pitch. I hope we will see a lot more from him when we finally find a proper centre-forward. I hope we will see a lot more from many of our players when we find a proper centre-forward.
