Chelsea v Everton (PL) Thur 16th Dec 2021 19:45 GMT

So much frustration with the squad at the moment. The injuries and COVID and then also having Saul forced down our throats. Would rather bring in an academy kid for depth than keep turning to him. At least when the academy kid messes up or has a mental error, it's more understandable.

We didn’t even play badly just one useless twat losing his man on a set play, and a manager stupid enough to keep playing him

Thats honestly how I feel. I don't think we played as bad as some of our previous games. The team were just awful at finishing and Tuchel should have never allowed Saul on the pitch.

Some idiots in this thread thinking a new manager will suddenly solve this problem and turn havertz into prime frank, werner into prime gudjohnson and lukaku into a prime drogba. I know they didnt play tonight...

I haven’t seen any comments saying a new manager is the answer.

I swear our performances have dropped since those Ballon D'or awards.

Players need to re-focus and get their hunger and desire back.

I have said this before. Since being named team of the year we have played some real sh*t.

So true Loz. Think we all got carried away - majority of expert pundits too. All were tipping us to win the PL this season and for a while it seemed whatever side TT picked got the result. But in a short space of time we have lost form and confidence and now those players who were looking okay, look a million miles away from City and Liverpool quality.

TT has been brilliant up to now but this is the time we get to see just how good a coach he really is (or isn't).

Agree that this is the time to see if Tuchel has what it takes to turn round a bit of a sinking ship. Talk of sacking him, which to be fair only a few have suggested, is the stuff of imbeciles but he will need to pick things up in the short to medium term because, as we know, Roman isn't a patient fella.

We are in a situation  where we are getting bugger all goals from our front line players. And I don't just mean Lukaku and Werner. Equally I mean Odoi, Ziyech, Pulisic and Havertz.

Personally I don't think Odoi, Ziyech and Pulisic will ever be good enough and I'd be making plans to move them on. Lukaku, Werner and Havertz I think we need to persevere with for now which means, when fit, we need to play them and try and find a way to get them scoring. Relying on goals from Mount, James and Jorginho penalties, as we are doing now, is a recipe to finish 6th or 7th.

The worst fecking Everton team in recent memory, everyone was waiting for Rafa to be sacked and we just hand them free points.

Charity FC on the pitch so I hope the team donates this week's wages for covid research or something.

We just can't catch a break at moment, why couldn't covid catch Saul or Sarr instead of our 3 strikers? It should have been a hard earned 1:0, absolutely stupid to concede a goal like that in set pieces like that. The biggest worry for us right now is the defence is fast collapsing, more and more mistakes have crept in, we have no confidence holding on to a clean sheet. Offensively we are missing chances as usual, can't even blame Werner for that. James and Mount all should have scored in the first half, would have been a completely different game. Pullisic should not have played as a false 9, but what options did we have? Lastly, Saul was just awful and completely below the level.

i'm delusional and hope Kovacic and Kante might turn us around

although they are not the ones who have to be clinical

Should have smashed them in the first half, instead we end up drawing conceding a fecking ridiculous goal. Our front line is not capable of scoring 1v1 but our solid defensive set up is sinking at the moment. Really pissed off coming back home now.

We actually the chances in the first half to win this game but our finish was Norwich standard.

Everton didn't even try tonight and it only took them 4 minutes to equalize!

disagree 100 percent. they worked their socks off Everton and they had to. Do you think Benitez is gonna come to the bridge and roll over?

Not true. In 2016-17 we won 10 out of 11 games from the beginning of November to mid-January (and if I remember correctly equalled a record for best league winning run in the process).

That was an anomaly though. That was a one off in a season where we eventually won the title, what we are seeing now has become the norm for us. We don't just have a few poor results here and there, they are poor results and performances off the back of the team being in the form of their lives. Most teams have a dip in form at certain points of the season, but what we keep seeing from us isn't something I see any other team go through. We are the type of team that will go from challenging at the top, or at least look certain to secure a top 4 finish, to relegation form where we are clinging on and desperately hoping for one of the teams around us drop points.

Dont agree at all with this

I didn't actually mean Everton didn't put any effort in tonight.

My point was we took 70 minutes to score and when they needed to equalize it took only them 4 minutes.

It says more about us than them.

I think you're a bit harsh on Hudson-Odoi. Before he was dropped, he was starting to sort things out. He was creating chances, getting beyond players and getting shots away. Unlike the other attacking players, it felt like only a matter of time before everything clicked. For some strange reason, Tuchel took him out of the team. I don't know why he did it, but whatever the reason was hasn't worked out for us at all.

The premier league should give us some kind of fair play trophy for that. Giving life to dead teams is our specialty.

I just don't understand how we always go from great to sh*t so many times over the years. I knew we wouldn't win the league this year but it is shocking to be unable to beat a depleted Everton side that has been in terrible form. WTF is wrong with us?

23 shots to 5, 10 v 3 on target. They worked hard defensively but still received 10 shots on target. So they did not work that well. We are just a fecking disaster at the moment and doubt we could beat Norwich on present form.

Best academy in the world and we’re looking to Saul and Barkley as subs. Other teams are using their youth and they are performing. Get them out of the academy bubble and use them in these situations. The Tuchel capitulation is well under way now

Feels a bit like the ‘we’ll be alright once Rudiger is fit’ argument from the other season.
