Why wouldn't they? Tuchel made them European Champions.  What Lukaku have done for them?

Yeah exactly, makes what he did all the more bizarre. Literally cannot fathom what he was thinking.

Great game, players gave it all, impressive display of spirit, determination and faith.

Good for TT to stick to his guns and show Lukaku who is the boss.

10pts behind City at the half way point is ridiculous.

The rest of Europe has dragged us down to their level....a one team league, with a couple that might stand a chance if the leader screws up.

Looked grim at 0-2 very happy with the draw and the 2 goals were top notch.
Mendy made some top saves he will be missed. City’s title to lose now.

A good game of football, particularly first half. Feels like a point won in the end after such a disastrous first 30 minutes. Second half was pretty even although most of Liverpool's best chances were in situations that were retrospectively flagged for clear offsides. City will run away with the league at this point. Hopefully we can sort out our current problems quickly and finish the season strongly. Plenty still to play for.

Why not look at the not keeping up with City thing from the City/neutral lens, which is that they have gone on an absolute tear, and are indeed something like a machine several years in the making. If we are falling short of them, how much is it our weakness and how much their strength? If more the latter - their success rather than our failure - we should have fewer complaints

What a game. Both defences were leaky. We definitely deserved that though. Played the better football. Their tactic was mainly over the top to Salah or Mane. Kovacic was brilliant all game. Absolutely bossed that game. He dominated the stats this game as shown by skysports. Chalobah made a huge mistake and was shaky first half but he recovered really well second half and regained composure. Silva was brilliant also and Rudiger came on top quite a few times with Salah. The result all but confirms City will win the title but proud the way the team played in light of recent events and player absences.

Isn't this incredibly harsh considering how many injuries we had over the past month?

Lets take it step by step, City are due a blip too

I always find it hard to enjoy these games, especially going 2 down. Happy that we came back for a point but disappointed we didn’t win.

Mane should have been off.

Pullisic should have put us 1 up but scored later and had a decent second half.

Unfortunate Chalobah mistake but steadied himself after that and looked maybe to pick up a bit of an injury.

Kante is magnificent, most of us know that. Just make sure we keep him.

Thought Kova was MOTM with the goal and some lovely moments of pure skill and dribbling.

There is a big difference in catching up with City and City catching up with you though.

I thought to myself our only chance is to do Liverpool today then do city and go on form there. It’s gone now most likely but I want to finish about the scousers. I can’t stand them and we are a better team, I don’t care what anyone says. Full squad we dominate them.

The margins are so fine we haven’t played bad this season, had a lot of setbacks and city and Liverpool will always get a helping hand from the refs.

you know the difference in the league nowadays is not your performance but the refrees.. If we get the penalty last game and the red card to mane we close the gap by 4 points. If city doesnt get the dodgy silva penalty thats a gap of 4 points..

Fine margins at the very top level

want us to win the world club thing- I know it's meaningless really but it'd be good to have it on the club's history. apart from that defend the CL as best we can, maybe pick up a cup. that'd still be a half decent season

why would Lukaku not want to be part of a team that played with the spirit shown today. we're just missing a clinical striker. hasn't it always been that way.

when a manager can buy a 60mil player and ship him off in 6 months.. thats belly up to FFP..

the inconsistency in refereeing is definitely a huge factor when the margins between the actual teams are so tight

The thing I don't understand is why so many teams just roll over for them. There is a whole second tier of PL sides that have spent a ton of money and yet play with such naivety against City.

They are very good, but they are not unbeatable ... as we showed in the head-to-heads last season.

I honestly don't know. When I watch them, I can't tell if they have been really good or if the opposition just haven't turned up. One thing is for certain, I rarely see teams put in the same amount of energy against them as they do against us. It's like so many teams approach City with a defeatist attitude. City's games are so boring to watch because they play at such a casual pace but still somehow find it so easy to win. I know it's hard to stop them, but I rarely see teams actually fight like crazy to get something against City like they do against us, Liverpool or United.

Now, that Liverpool will lose a couple of their best attacking players it will be interesting to see how they cope without them. Top4 battle might get very intense.

I think they'll only miss one PL game

Just now, just said:

Fair play to Souness for saying Mane's was a clear Red card. Obviously Carragher says it wasn't.🙄

If it was 5 mins into the game he was gone.. the ref bottled it.. Adding to the long list, i hope TT calls him out..

Kind of pathetic that one manager can dominate a league season after season, and  we moan about Bayern and Bundesliga. We spent £300m+ to compete with City and still can't.

We won the CL by beating them and won 3 games in a row against them, we have just had a bad run of injuries and sickness and decisions.
