June 10, 20233 yr Inter did look a lot better when he came on to be fair, if Pochettino could get him back in shape it wouldn't be an awful move for us

I would rather let him rot away in the reserves for the rest of his career than give that fat oaf a chance in this team.
June 10, 20233 yr @Argo is spot on. It will be straight sabotage from any manager who wishes to use him. Sympathy will immediately be lost. Really, really hope Pochettino doesn't have the "I can fix him" mentality.
June 10, 20233 yr Pochettino has got a reputation for improving players. But he can't spend the rest of his life working on Lukaku
June 10, 20233 yr And there u go... Lukaku, forever to be remembered as the guy who missed a sitter from 4 yards out that would have leveled the match for Inter and kept them in the 20230CL final! Maybe his time at Inter is over.

People blaming our forwards but never the systems or tactics. Auba,Timo, Sterling (need a lot of chances), … a nice number of goals and assist if he plays 90 min and even against big teams. Lastnight another assist should have been 2 assists. Inter won last 11 from 12 if not for the red card was 12/12. Goals between Lautaro and Lukaku with many assist too Cough. Cough. The first big red flag should have been when he raged quit the first time (I mean ffs we even had an in house example of his lack of character/mentality and still resigned him). A supposed obsessive Chelsea fan born in the early 90s with a chance to be in a squad managed by Mourinho while learning from the player he claimed to idolize growing up, no way he'd have passed up on that opportunity even if he wasn't first choice.

City were putting on more pressure because Inter subbed off a much better player, and Inter eventually conceded. They may have looked better after but that was because they needed to score. Put Dzeko in Lukaku's position and he doesn't miss that chance, or block his own teammate from scoring.

Yup, massive blunder by Inzaghi. He should know Lukaku is a big game bottler. 45 minutes ago, Argo said: 😅 Believe it or not I don't actually think that highly of my opinions and I'll be the first to admit I get more wrong than I do right but I honestly don't get how so many didn't see this coming. Just pulling your leg old chum. ;) I was very much with you when we were looking to resign Rom. One of those occasions that vast majority of us knew better than Roman, Marina and TT. We are the ones that have to suffer it though. Really hope we just pay him to stay at home for those 3 years. Nobody will want to buy him and rightly so, you would have to be an utter moron to spend millions on signing, and keeping, Romelu.
June 11, 20233 yr Hopefully Todd's visit to Saudi was him arranging a deal for Rom to go there. They will certainly be able to afford to pay him the big wages.
June 11, 20233 yr Who needs an opponent when you have Lukaku in the team? Let's hope Inter is down to a reasonable deal to take him, think Pochettino would much prefer to work with a striker with a clean slate with us.

Isn't playing Dzeko for an hour without any discernible contribution comparable. In fairness to Lukaku, and why should we be, he definitely improved their attacking intent form the first ten seconds when he won the header over Dias.

I'd bet money that Pep/City were much happier to see Dzeko in the starting XI than they would have been with Lukaku.

He came on when the came was more stretched and for a period where inter needed to score. Only natural that there was more space and attacking intent given the circumstances. I don’t put that down to the donkey though…. if you look at his contributions, he was mostly a hinderance. Shooting when the shot wasn’t there. Blocking his team mates efforts. Missing for 3 yards. Complaining to Martinez that he didn’t pass when through on goal despite rom have defenders around him. Yes - he won 1 flick on header with his first touch. Big wow. The guy is a deluded self obsessed set publicised. Wishing someone like Saudi comes in.
