May 30, 20224 yr I just hope that whoever we get, is the right signing and actually good for us. We have a shocking record of signing strikers.

May 31, 20224 yr If I could sign anyone with our budget, I’d get Gnabry in and Lewa on a free. They know each other and could benefit the team straight away.
May 31, 20224 yr Personally I would be really excited if we got him in spite of his injury concerns. Guy is a phenomenal player when fit.

I don't watch Bayern but I wonder how much Gnabry's incredible results stem from Bayern passing him into situations he can exploit?

May 31, 20224 yr Dembele and Nkunku would fix our attack. Hopefully we manage to sell Lukaku, Werner and Ziyech. Dembele--Nkunku--Mount subs: Havertz, Broja, CHO, Pulisic.
May 31, 20224 yr This is a horrible signing for Chelsea. Do not want him at the club. Permanently injured and when he isn't, he's crap. You just know he'll be coming in on stupid wages and we'll end up not being able to shift him. The wrong type of player for us.
May 31, 20224 yr There seems to be a lot of 'wrong' or 'right' type of player for the club from you this week? Do you want to break down what makes the wrong or right type of player we need?
May 31, 20224 yr Right: Cost effective, something the club actually needs, no prima donna-esque tendencies (see Neymar). A leader to replace Azpi. A strong personality. Aggressive. Being young and English is a bonus but appreciate this can also work against the club economically when buying talent. Wrong: Constantly injured. Overpaid and overrated talent (see Dembele). Someone the club clearly doesn't need and doesn't solve any issue that we can't get from the academy. Dembele is very much in the wrong category.

Thats the problem with all stats though i suppose, how will that translate in a Chelsea shirt. Both really talented players though.
May 31, 20224 yr I'm not so concerned with his injury record, since he's been fit for his longest stint in a Barca shirt recently. Chelsea have a world class medical team and we don't really have any regular injury prone players currently off the top of my head. Pulisic managed to stay fit for the majority of the season which was a good step forward for him. Latest update: Decision believed to be made soonish, according to reports Ousmane wanted to wait until CFC ownership was resolved. At 25 I could see a deal of £175k a week being enough of a financial package to insight him. What I think is the most exciting prospect of him joining us is having an entertainer again which honestly I think a lot of people are underestimating. This is a player that will look to entertain us, he'll dribble, do skills and provide exceptional deliveries into the box. Also between all the teams that are linked I think royal blue would suit him the best 😉 a young dembele repping the shirt
June 2, 20224 yr I'd sign him and try and sell Werner, Ziyech, Pulisic and hopefully Lukaku (that clearly hasn't worked unfortunately). Getting Dembele on a free could be a great bit of business and if TT is high on him, I think we back our manager.

Cost effective and English don't really go together. English players values are inflated. What you described is getting Declan Rice at a Mark Noble cost, lol.

Getting Dembele on a free could be a great bit of business and if TT is high on him, I think we back our manager. I think there is a lot to be said for that with the first couple of signings for sure. It's not only public backing for the manager it also about responsibility and accountability in all areas. There are few if any shields if your team contains the bulk of your chosen players. Whilst you rightly deserve the accolades you also have to own the brickbats if it fails. The Lukaku story becomes so muddied because of this. If we work backwards from some of the comments on here. Fat, slow, disinterested, entitled. Well physically he has always looked to me to be a lad that needs to keep playing and in the gym to naintain peak fitness. He's not been playing because he is in this poor form, lack of fitness, lack of confidence spiral. However he also doesn't seem to fit TT's pattern. We are led to believe that he was a club signing not a TT signing at a time that TT was still demonstrating to the world that he could take a group of underperformers under FL and win the CL. If we then signed a player that doesn't fit his style, and he then has a clash of personality with Lukaku where does the responsibility lie for this current failure. June 2, 20224 yr This had better not be the replacement for Lukaku, granted he is a step up on Ziyech, but not the potent striker we need.
June 2, 20224 yr 🚨 Update: My source says Dembele has chosen Chelsea, I'll follow up with more details if and as they come. Tuchel factor I believe was too strong and supposedly it's a last minute decision. He may have already had a foot in the door with a different team, but with sanctions removed CFC may have turned his head. This is linked with Lukaku move, expect 1 in 1 out this summer in some cases maybe all. However, this is not a replacement for Lukaku as I understand, Lukaku leaves and Tuchel will be expecting another striker. As far as I understand, supposedly Werner and Ziyech are the likeliest to move on if a sufficient offer is received, so see Dembele more as a replacement for one of these. However, TT may go into the season with Havertz, Broja and Werner as central strikers if Broja can impress in pre season.

It's a miracle how a forum can work with only three emojis btw.
June 2, 20224 yr I would be quite shocked if Broja doesn't impress in preseason given the bar both Werner and Havertz have set. Keeping Werner isn't terrible but this would mean only one attacker in and if its Dembele that is still not good enough. Werner and Lukaku both need to be off.
