I've got a feeling teams may do it to inflate their attackers stats for future sales.

I think it is either to inflate their attackers value, to inflate team value, company value (red bull is an energy drink after all) or to inflate their own(manager) value. I am honestly quite baffled with this.

You can kinda see this trend also in PL. But because PL is extremely competitive from top to bottom, you can't just play suicide football or you will be out of the league in no time.

I watched Daniel farke Norwich and they dominated the championship with attacking football, came to PL and just continue playing the same type of football. I predicted them to be relegated after their 1st game.

I watched bournemouth early this season against city and they were very persistent trying to play short build up from the back. It was a joke. All city need to was to press them and they got tap in.

Then what you get is pep praising you for sticking to your principle after beating you 6-0.

It's a totally open draw in the quarters, country and group protection is out of the window so we can absolutely get Milan again.

I can't recall a group stage repeat immediately in the quarters that often though, it's never happened to us and off the top of my head I can only think of Barca/Milan (2012) and PSV/Liverpool (2007), maybe @Sexyfootballwill have the figures.

Afraid not !

It's defeating my powers of google search as well 🙂

Apart from City and Real, we should fancy our chances against the other 5 teams left. We can't be drawing AC right, since we are from the same group? Benfica to ideal, but will take Inter now.

According to uefa.com the draw is completely open.

Can teams from the same country play each other in the Champions League quarter-finals?

Yes, it is an open draw. There are no seedings and no country protection, so clubs can face opposition from the same national association and teams they previously came up against in the group stage.

The lose  did Arsenal a big favour in terms of winning the league, but it's funny how they failed so early in the knock out stage, despite playing a very strong team. No repeat of European glory for Jorginho then 😄

Union St Gilloise got further in Europe than Arsenal

Think Arsenal got the result Arteta wanted. He left his 3 best players, Saka, Odeguard and Partley, on the bench. You don't do that in an even tie if you want to get through

he had to bring them on though. made my day, the amount of fans coming out of the woodwork mouthing off especially the ones who talk about the invincibles but aren't old enough to remember them. They'll probably win it but next season will be tougher for them as all their rivals will strengthen.

Arsenal have only ever won two European trophies, the old Fairs Cup in 1970 and the ECWC in 1994.

Even Spuds have more than that (3).

JT was trolling Piers Moron on Twitter a few weeks ago when Moron said Chelsea fans need a telescope to see how far Arsenal were on front of us.

JT asked Moron where he'd been for the last 20 years !
