Ronaldo's goal output is dropping rapidly. It was 18 from 30 games last season in the PL down from 29 in his last season with Juve. In 9 seasons with Real he scored 311 goals from 292 La Liga games.  He was an incredible player, it is truly incredible to be better than a goal a game in Spain over 9 seasons, but those days are well over.

True. But in all fairness, I think every elite striker would underperforme in last years Man Utd.

The Premier League is far harder to score in compared to the Serie A. Look at how Lukaku's numbers dropped off when over here. 30 goals over there is about the equivalent of 20 goals over here

Outside of penalties Lukaku's rate there wasn't that much different to United and if he took penalties for us he would have got around 25 despite how sh*t he was.

Serie A may have declined a lot but it's still a pretty astute league defensively for the most part.

I think there is, I’d think it’s Bayern (most likely) or us.

If we can't get dembele or Raphinha over the line due to wages we haven't got a scooby with Ronaldo

No one really knows, but don’t think either ever wanted to come, not that wages were an issue.

I read somewhere last week, probably bollocks as I think evert bit of reporting has bee, thar dembele spoke to us and was disappointed with the offer. Then suddenly he was interested in staying.

If he wants to leave due to no Champions League then why has he waited so long?  Makes me think he’s already got his transfer planned/sorted.  It would be bad PR to request a transfer only for him to stay at Utd.

If Ronaldo leaves United, he will very likely go to Bayern.

Not sure Bayern can afford his salary

And more importantly if you are a serious club, you want to avoid cr7. It is very difficult to a very strong team with cr7

Starting point...I dont want us to sign Ronny.

But....

If we are looking for a proven EPL goalscorer, and have a genuine intent to try and focus our goalscoring onto the striker (as opposed to sharing them out as we do now), then we could do a lot worse.

He is good for 15 goals a season at least. Penalties are no longer a concern. He improves our threat from attacking corners. He has a winning mentality that would hopefully rub off on others.

So, whilst in an ideal world I would not want us to sign him, we could do worse for a short term stopgap.

The odds have reduced quite significantly for Ronaldo to join us. I pray this doesn't happen. Not because I think he will flop or anything like that but mainly because we will then become Ronaldo FC and I don't want to have any superstar primadonnas such as him and Neymar in our team. I would rather us promote Broja than sign Ronaldo and continue with Havertz up front.

He could flop and the chances are very high. He is 37, and I day the goals will dry up. Knowing our luck he will probably stop scoring once he is in blue.
Who could have predicted Messi will go from scoring 30 La Liga goals to scoring 6 Ligue 1 goals in a stacked team?

I am not big fan building around one player but if Ronaldo is 25 or at least as good as he is at 25/26, this is no brainer. We should sign him tomorrow. He is in the end one of the goat of football

But he is 38. So no thanks.

Neymar case is actually more interesting but I don't watch French football.

Ronaldo will score at least 15 goals for us easy.

Now if you ask me are we going to be a better team or worse team? I will say worse.

Lukaku mk 2.

Albeit Ronaldo is actually talented just past his best.

If we want to sign one of the best players in the world on big money just before his 100th Birthday Neymar is the guy we should look at not Ronaldo.

Nah, Ronaldo is a totally different profile of player and is one of the most consistent pros around - for 1 or 2 seasons he will help us big time

Lukaku was always crap, Has a mafia of agents and lawyers but has never been anywhere near world class

Your opinions are so strong and not often on the money, Bad combo lol

Neymar bigger risk than Ronaldo simply based on one thing, PL exp.
