Would be interested to see Amapdu get a run in midfield. He is combative.

Extremely risky. If you sell Jorgi without any replacement and Ampadu wouldn‘t work out we should be scared about a top 4 spot. No manager should and would agree to that (except Amapdu would have set the training grounds on fire which I doubt happened).

anyway- Leao would be aces!

I would very much advocate a couple of midfield signings.

This Leao stuff seems to all come from his contract stand off with Milan. A bit like De Jong and his contract issues with Barca.

Leao is not that good, he is around the level of Ziyech and Pulisic. Trust me if we got him at 40m or under it would be a worthwhile signing. But even then dont expect him to get more than 10 goals, even if he played all 38 games.

I like the look of him.  We need someone who can get the crowd on their feet someone to add a spark to our attack.  Even if once he plays in the premiership he only looks like a Saint Maximin clone I’d be happy enough, and he might wear some funky head bands.

Looks like an exciting player from what I’ve seen.

Having him & Sterling would give defenders quite a bit to worry about.

Don’t feel like this will happen though, they’ll want much more than these £50m quotes.

My fear is that we will pay a fortune and he will be another winger who lights up Serie A and flops in the Premier league. I'd be happy enough with Saint Maximin himself to provide some wing entertainment and he would cost much less.

Make it happen !!!

11 goals and 10 assists in 34 games.

A pleasure to see him play. I just don't see AC letting him go.

Also pretty tall for an Attacking Winger. That being said he also plays CF from time to time.

Aubas figure depends on the source you ask (where you at @LongtimerLurker😉 I have seen as high as 30mill.

Given our supposed budget was 200mill and with that spending not 1 central midfielder, Kante and Jorgi out of contract next summer and Kova and Kante always getting injured.

I think they're saying £18m with £4m in add ons. It all comes down to how greedy Barca are they need €20m apparently to even register Kounde who has been left out in the cold compared to the other new signings who have joined and been registered.

On the midfield links I think both Todd and Tuchel wanted FDJ. Everyone in the world can see it would be best for him to leave and yet nothing has changed. I think TT is hesitant to sign any other central mids since we have a lot already despite the level not being consistent huge drop off from our 3 main guys to everyone else. From my perspective looking from the outside it was for them FDJ or noone this could ofc change.

Interesting take. My own view, presumably from a less thorough look than you've had, is that I would not sign him at any price. Does not look a top level player to me in the highlight vid I watched. Based on that I wouldn't even buy him if I was shopping for a Championship side. Somewhere between your opinion and mine the truth sits. If we do sign him let's hope it's sitting way, way, over to your side. 🙂

I'd say that this is dangerous thinking. Since the consensus now is that neither Hakim nor Pulli is good enough, what is the point of signing another player at their level even if he's free?

Leao is a very good player.  Compared to Mbappe and Thiery Henry in style. Fast, quick, likes to beat players. Technical player. Dynamic, plays either wing, but started life as a centre forward.  Voted the Most Valuable Player in Serie A last season - which is a deeper assessment of his ability than a you tube video.  He would be a great purchase.

BUT. Chances are he is staying at Milan and he just wants to renegotiate his contract.

To be honest I’ve only seen little snippets of him so your opinion might be closer to the truth than mine.

Maybe I’m overly desperate for an unpredictable wide man who has the courage to take on people like Sterling has.

Anyway, I’ll be very surprised if we got him for anything like £50m.

Time will tell…

I can't wrok out going for this bloke, if there is any truth in iut which i doubt, if we apparently going after Aubameyang. Don't they both favour the left hand side of the attack cutting in. Of course its a bit of a moot point here cos no bu88er has the ability to pass the ball forwards anyway so neither of them will ever get to run in behind

As one of those who is severely unimpressed by the highlights vids, it is good to read the opinion of someone who has watched this lad properly. On that basis I can't reasonably set my opinion against yours or claim that it is as well grounded. It clearly can not be, but there is a very big gap between what I think I have seen and what your more considered view tells you.

Playing a waiting game for FDJ without having other options is a stupid way to think especially giving that fact that FDJ has never shown any inclination of wanting to join us. We badly need a creator in that midfield and we should probably get one on now while still playing for FDJ. If he comes, we can can send Gallagher back to Crystal Palace on loan and if not we still have a creator as the last piece in puzzle.

I need guarantees that he won't be another Cuadrado

You say that like he hasn't been great for Juventus. Same with Salah, KDB etc when they left us.
