I know. Worst thing is that the guys aren’t really football fans so I doubt we’ll be in a pub which is showing it.

Everton have no strikers available so good chance of a clean sheet. Chelsea have Havertz, Werner & Broja so....good chance of Everton clean sheet.

And Sterling eager to make his mark, if all else fails one dive and penalty 1-0.

Also Sutton has now taken on Lawrenson's BBC prediction and both him and his challenger have gone 2-0 to us, that would be nice,

Let's gooooooo!!! Finally PL is back.

I see Everton have pretty much kept the same squad from last season. They are poor and will probably finish outside top 10.

We've not had the best of pre seasons and probably need another three weeks until we are close to 100%, but we won't lose today either.

It is either going to be a very frustrating draw, or we'll rip them a new one.

Usually when you think of sports, you use the pre season as a barometer and most of the time it could be deceiving.

For example Arsenal last night. Everybody thought they would destroy Palace and it was not like that, Palace with a decent striker would have put at least 3 past that Arsenal side.

Chelsea have not been that great during pre season and opposition fans tip Arsenal and Spurs to finish ahead of us. Automatically they think we will have lots of problems against Everton. And then the match comes and Chelsea wins comfortably.

Pre season results are for fools. Like all those deluded gooners who think they will finish 3rd and Jesus will score at least 25 because of that pre season. Yeah right. Last night they were lucky the Palace attackers did not have their shooting boots on and Jesus?! How many times did he touch the ball past the first 20 minutes? Bunch of complete fools.

i think Emerson will start

hope to see Chucky get some minutes when we hopefully have killed the game

Havertz with the brace today

Why does everyone think Azpi will start?

             Mendy

Trev.    Silva.    Koulibaliy

James  Kante. Kova.  Chilly

    Mount.      Sterling

               Havertz

The Udinese game gave us that indication.

I'm expecting this, I think Tuchel is going to gradually ease Chilwell back in and eventually move Cucurella to a LCB.

Edit: Wow just realised I put hazard instead of Havertz, wishful thinking

I accidentally wrote Hazard the other day too when I mean Havertz. How I would love to have the smiley Belgian back in our side!

Not sure how we will line up in this one, or who will get their debut.

Guessing Koulibaly and Sterling for sure will start, with Cucarella and Chucky on the bench.

With Everton being a bit of a bogey side I'm not entirely happy to have this as our 1st game of the season, but we should have enough to get a result. We'll see.

And today is also my father 94th birthday :shok: Thankfully we'll have a lunch and not a dinner to celebrate the occasion, so back in time for the match.

Back. Getting my parents to and from a restaurant is an operation akin to the D-Day landings. We're all shattered. Two happy oldies though. Here's the birthday boy.

Should be a comfortable win today. Streak of losing or drawing with this team should hopefully end today. We had enough time to prepare and should be fresh to get them outplayed.
