August 8, 20223 yr This ship sailed long ago, the guy is 30 years old in a few months. He’d be an improvement in the very short term, if Tuchel wants him that would raise a few red flags for me about how serious he is about our project, because we are not matching Man-City any time soon and need to ‘build’ something.
August 8, 20223 yr Not good enough for Chelsea and a whinger too, constantly complaining about being fouled. Old and past his best when his best wasnt good enough. There must be others out there, no need to look at this calibre of player.
August 9, 20223 yr I have never been the greatest fan of Zaha. I think he has wasted his career at Palace, but I don't think he could have ever become an elite player in the top 4 either. I also find it a funny coincidence that Zaha is being linked with a move away now after it was mentioned on Sky that transfer rumours have been quiet around Zaha this season.
August 9, 20223 yr 🤔 Hopefully just a random rumour. He has some quality, but it's exactly the type of player we don't want. He's not great enough to be a starting player, not a young player with potential to. How is he much or any improvement over Pullisic or Ziyech?

August 15, 20223 yr Wonderful finish by Zaha to put Palace ahead at Anfield. How many seasons does Zaha have to outperform our wingers before people here stop pretending he isn't a massive upgrade on what we have? Edited August 15, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice
August 15, 20223 yr Honestly I would happily take Zaha, and Toney for that matter, over everyone we have up top right now. That is not to say he is an amazing player, just a lot better than what we have. When Zaha, Toney and Sterling/Mount seems like a dream compared to what we have lol

August 15, 20223 yr Wouldn't touch Zaha with @coco's barge pole. Far too inconsistent. Yes he is better than Pulisic and Ziyech but not by enough that it's worth throwing money at Palace. He would just end up being another player we get frustrated about.
August 15, 20223 yr After watching his performance today, apart from the goal he's been greedy and naff, work rate has been shocking....definitely worth giving a wide berth.
August 15, 20223 yr If we’re talking Palace players and young attackers I’d take Olise or Eze over Gordon.

Not his best performance today but we all know Zaha is going to score double figures in the league again this season wherever he plays while we're going to have to try convincing ourselves Pulisic and Ziyech have turned the corner when they score their 3rd goals of the season in March if we don't bring in improvements. At £25m due to his contract situation Zaha is worth a punt. Edited August 15, 20223 yr by HazardousChoice

He would be expected to pick out passes, crosses and dribble through tight spaces. I haven't seen much of that in his game for Palace.

Countless of times yesterday with their backs against the wall he had excellent opportunities to start a counter attack but kept been unnecessarily clumsy and holding unto the ball untill he was disposessed of the ball. We need players that can dribble, score goals but also intelligent enough to play in a team, and with the team. Zaha is clearly not the person
August 21, 20223 yr This really is a no brainier for me, a much better player than Richarlison, scored 3 goals already this season, in a better team than Palace I think he’ll thrive…

He has already tried and failed once in a better side. That said he certainly looks better than a number of our players although the circumstances are different. If we lost a player from a similar role and we ended up relatively cost neutral then I'd say let's go for it. Not sure what his wage demands would be compared to Barkley, Ziyech, CHO or Pulisic.

The hope is that he's willing to accept a fairly modest wage because he's so desperate to prove himself at the absolute top of the game and play for an elite club. If he compares himself to Pulisic and Ziyech and looks at their wages he'd be asking for £600K a week!
