And Rice couldn't protect the backline, no different from Jorginho.

Tbf both goals came from the left side. Almost nothing went through the center

WHy do you always use whataboutism to defend Jorginho?

Because it's his fault every time we don't win.

Doesn't really matter now does it...

Based off the half I saw.

Mendy - 2 - Horrible. He's in the wrong sport, he thinks it's volleyball. Fully at fault for the 1st goal and was incredibly fortunate to get away with not conceding the equaliser.

James - 4 - He's sh*t at RWB against teams that sit deep. He always wants an extra touch and never attempts a cross. Horrible back pass near the end too.

Fofana - 7 - Looked comfortable, put in a few nice tackles too.

Silva - 6 - Didn't really notice him too much.

Koulibaly - 6 - Same as Silva

Loftus-Cheek - 4 - Looked ineffective.

Kovacic - 4 - Didn't look comfortable in the position he played

Cucurella - 4 - Out of position, didn't suit him at all.

Gallagher - 5 - He tries, but not a lot came off for him

Sterling - 4 - Worst game for us so far.

Pulisic - 4 - Gone, I just can't see how he turns this around.

Subs

Broja - 6 - Looked hungry when he came on, had zero service though.

Chilwell - 9 - Made all of the difference, he dragged us to a win with his goal and assist.

Mount - 5 - Pressed well as usual, but other than that, very little else to offer.

Havertz - 6 - Nice finish for the goal that won us the game.

Jorginho - 4 - Didn't have much time on the pitch, but he still managed to lose the ball that almost lead to a goal for West Ham.

With the hobbits we have up front, who is James going to cross it to?

Our defence should be really solid now with Fofana, I don’t see the harm in trying Kepa now. At least he shouldn’t have to make as many saves.

Something has to change. I am not confident Kepa will be much better, but Mendy has to be dropped. Swing a cross on top of him, get a man near him and he is flapping every single time. The guy has fear in his eye any time an opposition player is near him, you can't have that as a goalkeeper.

Let’s watch how big of a deal the pundits are going to make this var decision in comparison with the numerous var decisions that went against us or that went in favour of their favourite teams

The American is coming in January

Don't care, that is no excuse to not put a cross in. Chilwell does it and look what happens, we score. James is by far our best crosser in the team, if he is in the position to put a cross in, he has to take it. Put it into a dangerous area and you never know what will happen.

Wins feel more like relief than Joy.

We've won 3 games this season and looked sh*t in all of them.

Really worrying times.

Chilwell saved us today and Fofana looked solid but that's where the positives end.

Are you ok? You didn't mention Pulisic.

I noticed that too.

he doesn’t seem comfortable at catching the ball. He always wants to parry the ball away which results in danger.

kepa is dodgy too but mendy needs to sit on the bench now. It is 3 games  in a row where he has made a mistake.

I don’t know why we can have some sanity on these shows .. I quite like the Utd guys they aren’t as one sided.. used to love it with Keane / Giggs / Scholsy..

these second run pandits like owens / the two bit spurs clown Jenas/ Carragher / Graeme Souness just find them utterly biased

Not pretty, boring for the most part, road our luck with that disallowed goal, but its 3 points, a comeback win at home, following the last home game where we beat Leicester with 10 men. Good for the spirit of the group.

Need to keep grinding out points while this squad settles, it's going to take time.

Mendy is a real concern though for me, thought he shouldve dealt with both those goals, poor touch on the 1st, and the second he has smoother the ball, although James was massively at fault for that header.

Really happy for Chilly who looked great and took his goal brilliantly.

But no Reece James who made the biggest mistake of all?

It was poor by Reece no doubt but if the keeper comes out and looks to collect that rather than palm it out - it’s a non-incident.

not going to argue with any of that my first game at the Bridge for a little while. I was not that disappointed as most sound on here I have to say. Dull dull first half blimey, crowd pitiful !! This was the pickeys at home FFS !

I said above it is down to TT for me he has got to find his best 11 and quickly.  Be interesting what he does with boomerang (sorry haven't leaned to spell his name yet)

couple of comments,

Chilwell looked like he had been out for best part of year against Southampton.  for those moaning about  TT he is doing the right thing with Chilly easing him back in.

What has happened to Mendy?  very sad, When he was first with us it wasn't worth putting a cross in our box as he would pluck it out the air, and his shot stopping was amazing.   TT has to be brave enough to drop him as we know that Kepa will take two to three games to get back in the swing.

Sterling had a bad one only because Moyes had West ham set up very defensive to stifle the likes of Sterling, all players are allowed a quiet one and he has been great so far.

i would start Kepa in the CL

it isn't really dropping Mendy as it's a different competition (or you could spin it that way)

if Kepa has a good game he stays in the team

he's engaged now so he should have some confidence

Wish they'd actually start hiring proper pundits vs people that come on tv just to support their teams

We cross far too often to no one in the box. It’s a shocking tactic. The position Chilwell crossed it from is completely different it was more of a cut back. Reece would do the same in that situation but spamming crosses to Sterling & Pulisic is just insanity.

Spot on!

That is the one thing I feel TAA has on Reece, Trent will swing in a cross whenever he has the opportunity.

Even if Reece swings in 3 crosses with no takers then by the 4th one someone will know what to expect and surely try and get on the end of it.

If Reece keeps turning back and or sideways then forwards will just run into offside positions and not bother.

There needs to be an element of forwards knowing he will cross the ball then you can get tap-ins, own goals etc…

The upsides far outweigh the downsides, it frustrates me TBH.
