September 3, 20223 yr we've got ourselfs a new friend, I think the only one. Jarred Gillett was in charge of VAR. 1st the c**t who scored first shouldn't be on the pitch anyway, so VAR decission equals it out 2nd Ben is back! 3rd Kai is a match winner. and he become arrogant mofo, I like it 4th Thiago is immortal Edited September 3, 20223 yr by mojo
September 3, 20223 yr Couple of observations We are very far from being a functioning unit. Opponents have 3-4 different ways to destroy us. No one considers us a major threat Attack is probably the least potent in the league. In this form anyway. We need clever players. Hopefully Broja and Auba provide some of that. Defense is okay however we are still very shaky. Mendy looks shaky. Mount is weirdly off pace. Chilwell is brilliant. We are looking for a shape and consistency in it. Will be win, lose, draw, win, win, lose, lose, draw type of first half of the season. We need to be mentally ready for it. Fans I mean. Gallagher is feeling the pressure. He is so out of character compared to last season. He was full of optimism and now looks like a man who is afraid. I still think TT needs to force him to play all the time. Time will make it I think. Conor is such a gifted athlete

September 3, 20223 yr The majority in here are on the same page, regarding Chelsea’s stagnant, Turgid play, the only opponent to our foresight seems to be the f**king manager!! Edited September 3, 20223 yr by Ballack & Blu

September 3, 20223 yr We have had a lot of change in a short spell. Gallagher was not playing for posession based side so when he got the ball he could run onto goal at CFC he is finding two banks of 4 in front of him. He may be the wrong fit for us. Seems we got a result with Fofana settling in fast. Mendy is a concern and it might be prudent to give Kepa a chance for a game or two. Chilwell looks much more an attacking threat than Cucurella though the latter can play in two positions. Havertz took his goal well and think he will play more regularly especially while Mount is off his game. He might be better as a supprt attacker rather than a false and he is better in the air. I am a wait and see on Auba, for me shades of Sarri and Higuain and that did not go well. When I saw WHU seemed to be in a 4-5-1 wondered why TT took so long to change it.
September 3, 20223 yr Phew relieved to win that one. We should not have done we had a huge helping of luck. First half nothing happened. Not a surprise with us lacking a threat up top and WH set to contain. Second half we got some needle in it. Made for much better viewing. We still cannot defend corners. Every opponent pulls the same trick. Surround Mendy, he drops and clanger and goal. Though imo Antonio should not be on the pitch to prob home. His headlock slam on Silva was a blatant second yellow. Ben did both brilliantly and got lucky on that goal. And some think Cucurella is better, lmao, he has no attacking game at all, Ben was superb. Kai looked better plaything off a striker, who would have though? Broja beat them up and played a big part in our win. He really ruffled their feathers it was beautiful to see. Again though big luck as Cornet has to score that header, and the disallowed goal is super soft. Makes up for Antonio not being sent off though. I will take the luck, and a decent viewing second half 🙂
September 3, 20223 yr Have to be pleased with a come from behind win featuring a hapless goalie, invisible attackers, lots of fruitless possession and corners, very little shots on goal, bringing on Jorgingo late when a bit of steel was needed, and for once a soft VAR disallowed goal in our favor. This thread has gone from sack TT to back TT in 90 minutes. We are currently 5th above the dippers after a mediocre start.
September 3, 20223 yr To be honest we were poor. But with that late winner I've come back home absolutely buzzing. Who can resist a win against another London team, especially when you've come back from behind!

Was out today and listening on radio on way back and so far I haven't heard one pundit who agreed with it being disallowed - many saying worst decision they have seen! But that angle does make it look like a foul. Will watch MOTD tonight and form my own opinion but no doubt whoever is on will slag us off big time. If it is as soft as they suggest, at least it goes some way to make up for the Spurs travesty.

We would be pissed off for sure, but that doesn't mean it wasn't the correct decision, the keepers always get the protection, it's nothing new, that was the correct decision because it's constantly given, yes it's soft, but soft doesn't mean the wrong decision.
September 3, 20223 yr Back from the game buzzing from the excitement of the end, and the tension outside the Bridge after the match with the pikeys calling us rent boys and some of our lads going for them. The police did their job and it did not go any further than name calling. I have taken the positives in, which I think were many to be honest. First and foremost, we’ve showed finally some steel and what a way to come back from being one behind. Well done to the team. Another positive is the defensive line, Thiago had Antonio in his pocket the whole game, what a class player. And Fofana looked very good, if today is a sample of what’s to come from him, man we’ve got another class CB. I thought that for once, Tuchel subs did well (except Jorginho, to be fair). Havertz looked hungry and Mason put some pressure on West Ham’s offensive phases. And Chilwell was on top form again. And I’m baffled as to why Broja did not start over Pulisic, I thought he I’d well when he came on and fought off well the spammers. The match was a good derby, we dominated them and the midfield controlled the game. I though that Loftus-cheek had a good game (he can improve in releasing the ball earlier, certainly). Gallagher tried but you could see that he and James haven’t got that chemistry yet. And good to see back Kova. Sterling tried and he brings to the team something that we were missing there. Some negatives as well. Mostly you can see that the team has not gelled yet, but that just requires time. Pulisic did not offer much and most of us were baffled with Tuchel’s choice. Mendy is so unsafe now a days, when he came any ball crossed was his, now he’s so weak that you could not notice the difference if Kepa was on goal. And finally Jorginho. I guess Tuchel brought him on to get control of the midfield but he was a disaster. Finally, I think it was a fault on Mendy and the goal was rightly disallowed. I did not think much of it when they scored, but after seeing the repetition once var disallowed it, I don’t know how anyone can’t see the foot hitting Mendy. But, in any case, Antonio should have been sent off for double yellow earlier.

The pundits' view seems to be 'Bowen fouled Mendy but Mendy probably wouldn't have saved Cornet's shot so the foul shouldn't have been given.'
September 3, 20223 yr I thought this was a definite second yellow. The referee got it wrong but the focus will be on their disallowed goal.
