Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager

Could well be rubbish but the Sun has an article claiming that Potter only has the rest of January to turn things around, and may even be fired after the Fulham game if we lose. Same article claims Pochettino will be the replacement if Potter is shown the door.

Would not be worth the expense of sacking Potter for a manager who failed to win the PL title when he had Harry Kane and only Leicester to compete with. Then there is failing to win the league one season with PSG.

Replacing failure with failure would be...a failure...

Expect a double from Havertz, a set piece goal from Silva, assist from Felix, and Cucurella to have his best game of the season against Fulham. 😇 If the report is true about the 'crisis meeting', it's all or nothing from now on.

Honestly this kind of meeting is useless. I remember just last year united had many meeting and they were still suck until the last day of the season. This season they are suddenly looks much better without Ronaldo and with casemiro.

I am pretty sure if we can get Kante an james back, we will look better without this meeting.

He's starting to sound like a man under a lot of pressure. Perhaps even as one thats cracking under it.

Admitting the seniors had concerns and claiming its the toughest job in the world and that managing Chelsea is ridiculously hard.

I dont get the Poch love in, and Zidane, no. With the turmoil the club has been through overcthevlast 12 months, Potter has to have until the end of the season(and beginning of next in my opinion) If its still crap then, try to go for Alegri or Thomas Frank.

You just suggested appointing Allegri to manage Chelsea? Hell No!

All of the excuses coming out this morning are making him look very weak. If this carries on I wonder if he'll resign?

I expected a bit more fight than this. If he's downing tools already then we are in trouble.

He's not going to resign. That would be incredibly stupid from a financial standpoint for him.

Nothing he says would be interpreted by the media as anything other than him looking weak. He's trying to show that very fight.

He says he's being backed for long term change and it gets reported as "Chelsea fans should accept mediocrity".

He says he's met with the seniors, a positive meeting and good outcomes, and it gets reported as the seniors have problems with him.

Unless you can breeze through it like, Carlo and Guus did

Poch is the name that I have seen as most likely to step in if Potter is shown the door. But I agree I don't think this would be a good move and we would likely be back in the same discussions a few months down the line.

Hopefully they told him that we look clueless from a tactical viewpoint.

People  need to accept that Pep and Klopp are the outliers. A title winning manager is not easy to come by. So many things need to be in place. Man City have made good decisions since they were taken over. But for the past decade our club has been so inconsistent on and off the field.

Nobody ever resigns.

If the club sack him they have to pay out his contract, which I think still has 7 years to run.

We had a league winning coach, ok so it was the french league, but he was still the former coach of the year. I think if TT was given as much time as Klopp and Pep he wins the league, probably multiple times. It took Klopp 5 epl seasons and Pep 2 epl seasons. TT winning the ucl is proof not to mention how he had us top of the league before injuries and all the other bs.

As good as Klopp has been he still only has the one win in the league, Pep has dominated the league thoroughly. The smart decision for the owners would be to do what United have done (I know shock they actually did something right for once) with ETH get in an elite coach that will keep them in top 4 and then when Pep and Klopp are gone you're positioned as a top contender.

Idk where all this 7 year contract for Potter business is coming from. Originally it was reported as 5 years. If Boehly and Co gave Potter 7 years they truly are hopeless that makes 0 sense for new owners who have zero experience in managing a football club especially an elite one.

We looked like a title winning team under Tuchel last season before the injury crisis hit. Also a Champions League winning team, something you can't say about Guardiola (without Messi).

Yes you are right. I just checked. £60m over a 5 year contract.

I think we 'only ' paid Jose £20m to leave.

Surely we could have enticed Potter for less?

Jesus. 20m to get him from Brighton, then a 60m 5 year contract, along with all of his backroom staff and 60m for Cucurella. If we finish mid table and Potter still has a job I'm just going to assume Potter has Boehly's n*des.

It's a 5 year contract at 12m a year, as you said.

The worst manager I've seen with us in my lifetime.

I'm sorry Scolari I was much too harsh on you.

The biggest thing I can say about Potter is he looks like a manager that has won 31% of his games in English football and had more draws and more losses than wins at his previous clubs.

We can't complain we didn't get what we hired.

Of course It's his fault If we have players like Chalobah, Kepa.. And finished players like Azpi in our squad.
