Quite a lot of wingers have that - I always thought it was from the socks getting ripped by studs/contact. Noticed it on Martinelli during the Liverpool game.

Also I very much enjoyed Thiago Silva being perfectly placed to cover for Kepa's terrible attempt at punching that ball out. Almost like he was expecting it...
