April 28, 20242 yr I am still yet to be convinced. He's a dangerous player to bring on and run at a tired defence but I think if we want to be at the level we should be then we need someone a bit more creative. Compare him to Olise, I think Olise can do what Noni can do but Olise also has the ability to just look up and pick a pass and be creative with the ball. They are both the same age and Noni wouldn't even start for palace right now. Where we are in this moment in time Noni is just a small positive in a miserable season but if we want to reach the level we should be then I am not convinced. That's not just Noni either, we can list off a large portion of the team. Would love it if he proved me wrong and I hope he stays here but I do worry a little that if this board looks to offload a winger then he's first in line. Nobody is going to pay for Mudryk and will Sterling even accept a Saudi move? I don't see it. Edited April 28, 20242 yr by Sheva
May 2, 20242 yr Madueke and Nkunku on the wings with Palmer at no. 10 should be fun to watch next season. Hope we get a really good striker up top, too.
May 2, 20242 yr Madueke was excellent defensively and off the ball today, something I have been critical of this season. Really helped Gilchrist deal with Son. Edited May 2, 20242 yr by Scott Harris

May 3, 20242 yr Author Working on his defensive game, good. Has the natural to be a very good player. Needs to sort his head out with his final decision. Too often is more Sterling than he should be.
May 3, 20242 yr Fair play to Madueke, I have analysis ready to discuss his work rate without the ball and he step it up 😁😁😁
May 3, 20242 yr Good to see Poch giving him praise after his performance last night. I half agree about the final ball comments. However, I don't believe he is anywhere near Mudryk or Gronkjaer levels with that weakness. And often, for a direct winger like him, it is about beating defenders and getting the ball across into the right areas for the forwards to attack. Madueke does that plenty.
May 3, 20242 yr Didn't even know he was capable of defending like that. Like a man possessed. If he can add that to his game consistently I wouldn't really care about his final passes.

Loved how Poch not only hugged him but planted a kiss. Poor Noni looked embarrassed.

Seen him do that after a couple of negative moments for him, with the penalty debacle and a stinker vs Arsenal. Perfect reaction

A couple of months ago I saw very little to be excited about from Noni, another head down speed mearchant who takes you up dead end allies and actually with a very predicatable cut in. Last few weeks seen a very differnt player, started to go both ways, better decision making. There is hope
May 5, 20242 yr Author Now this is the Noni we want to see. The ability is clear, his defensive work ethic and selfishness have let him down bit if he fixes those, as he has the last two games, he certainly has a place here.
May 5, 20242 yr Still only 22, has lots of potential. I think he has to be a nailed on starter for us now, he's too talented to only be playing half the season. We should be investing more into this guy than we should the other big price tags.
May 5, 20242 yr For me he is the clear and obvious candidate for the 'Being behind Palmer and Gallagher for player of the season.'

Its a shame we probably won't keep hold of Gallagher and Chalobah because I think they both could be first 15 players for the next 5 years.
