Come off it mate, give the guy a break. I thought he had a good game, up and down the pitch, breaking up play, passing forward and getting back to do his defensive duties.

Like I said, he was okay in the 2nd half, but he was very much the same Cucurella that we saw against Villa in the first half.

How on earth did Liverpool not lose this game, and still have 11 players on the pitch ?

Pinched that one from BBC - they're right but it's becoming a regular thing - every week our front players are being taken down and the other team is getting away with it - might as well forget buying skillful players if it's going to carry on like this.

Poor game between 2 poor teams.

Nice to see Kante back, we looked fairly balanced and defended okay, but we look like a team that has a -1 goal difference.

Not much more to say, looking forward to a new manager implementing a style and philosophy, and hopefully put some confidence back into the attack.

Havertz f**king awful though. Seriously bad. I'm usually one of his biggest defenders but nothing went right for him today, and had a complete lack of conviction with every chance.

Players with the touch control, foot speed, movement, technical ability and vision that Felix has naturally, are few and far between. He has nothing to play to up front, no one to play off, no one to hold the ball. Give him that type of striker, he will be a star.

You basically just described Yannick Bolasie

Positives

Kante back and straight back to his best. My MOTM and fully deserving of his title of 'ex mini driver of the year'. Who was it that thinks we should sell him?

Fernandez, a midfielder who can sits deep, control a game AND create things. Now there is a novelty we haven't seen at Chelsea since the start of the 2018/19 season.

Fofana, looking closer and closer to the player we rightly paid top money for.

James, best wing back in the league by a country mile and possibly better looking than his sister.

Negatives

Felix is full of talent and far more creative than anybody else we have up top but no eye for goal. However with a proper centre forward in front of him I'll willing to wager he would become very important for us. He will create more than any of Mudryk, Pulisic, Sterling or Havertz.

Kovacic, I still don't get it. He is a Leicester/Bournemouth/Everton midfielder. The only thing special about him is the remarkable number of vowels on his full name.

Havertz, quasimodo with chemical castration is more likely to score. Even Russia abandoned communism quicker than we have given up on Havertz as a number 9.

Agree with all of this except maybe Felix. Super player on the eye but I just not sure of his effectiveness. Def one I’d pay money to see but there’s just something missing in the important end of the field.

Also I just want to type the name Kante, it’s been too long.

Havertz wasn’t great but it’s not all on him.

Felix missed plenty, Kovacic too.

Is Havertz meant to ask to come off ??

The interim had a chance to do something different and didn’t.

Literally can’t remember the last time I seen both of these sides so poor in certain aspects of their play.

It wasn't just the misses, it was his overall game. The handball when he was played through to run at the defence, the terrible control that bounced off his knee and out for a goalkick, sh*tting himself when Allison made a mistake and just playing a nothing ball back into Liverpool's possession. How soft he passes the ball forcing the players around him to get into 50-50's with Liverpool players. His awareness of his surroundings, making the wrong runs, not getting into the box when we need his height, slowing things down when we are getting forward. How much more do you want? it was a dogsh*t performance.

How do you have so many great chances and not score? It's not even good finishing needed, there's no excuse for use getting the ball into the positions we did and not even really forcing good saves, let alone scoring.

The chances we are creating now has gotta be a positive.

We are we expecting someone who can't score to finish those chances.

And when someone else gets the chance, they can't finish either.

Brighton's young teenager scored again tonight, surely we must have someone too who can put away gilt edge chances somewhere at our club and Academy?

Jamie Carragher just saying on SKY Sports how can any club spend 600 mill and not go for a proper striker. Spot on.

Felix is a rare player. Give him a proper striker watch him fly.

Thought we played decently tonight and really should have scored three, not counting the two disallowed goals!

We looked solid enough at the back with both Fofana and Koulibaly playing well.

In midfield it was great to have Kante back. His energy levels made such a difference. He was everywhere.

This is true but in reality I struggle to recollect a poorer Liverpool performance against us and ,yet we contrived to turn this into a competitive battling point! It is so bl00dy frustrating to come up against the elite clubs historically, at a point in time when they are sh*t and we fail to take advantage. Visits from Man Utd, shocking Gooners, Spurs and now this and we contrive to get bu88er all out of the league games and gifted two FA cups and a league cup. These types of games wind me up even more that the sh8t performances where we get rolled by a better team on the day.

Agree with this. Felix in this environment can't happen because he offers no end product, but in a structured dynamic system with a proper striker that score goals and thsi guy will be a maestro pullign all of the strings with Enzo the enforcer workign around him.

But with the shower we have in front of goal, its never going to work

spot on and just reading this brings all of those haunting bl00dy images back again.

It sounds crazy but it wouldn't surprise me at all if from this point until the end of the season Mitrovic scores more goals than Havertz, and he is banned for 8 of those games.

A good striker can be the difference that wins you titles but at the same time you need to be able to rely on the rest of your attacking players to still present a threat.

What good will be getting a striker be if every team can put two men on him for 90 minutes to take him out of the game because no one else is a threat?

In his defence... Kai was a bit unlucky to have that one ruled out too... hard to avoid it coming back off the keeper like that

But running 15 yards with the ball at feet, in a straight line directly at the goalkeeper and then dinking it straight at him surely is cack.

I’ve said he wasn’t great, that is in his all round display not just finishing.

Is he meant to ask not to play or ask to be subbed ?

The managers pick the lineup and decide the subs, if it were me he wouldn’t be starting or at the very least would get hooked no later than 60 mins.

Confidence, motivation whatever it is, he is clearly not in a great place, maybe the weight of expectation on him is too much, no excuses but you don’t become pony overnight and in general I would say most of us were quite happy with him to a certain point. Let’s be clear, he is not a number 9.

These are the moments where you need the other players to step up and fill that void until things start happening for you, and they are not, so his failure is systematic of the whole set up at present.

You could see the problems with these 2 teams tonight.

We have the attacking conversion rate of a relegation team and Liverpool are a shadow of themselves, especially in midfield.

I've hung in there with kai but tonight I'm tapping out.

No conviction in anything he does, way too casual, lacks any sort of conviction, reactive instead of proactive, and doesn't even make the effort to get back onside just in case of a turnover in play.

If we have any aspirations of challenging for the league he needs to go!

He won't even score 10 goals a season and clearly doesn't have the hunger to improve on those figures, as long as he scores a big or a beautiful goal every 2 months he seems content.

Kante - hasn't played since August and was everywhere!

Enzo - a very good player, he deserves more clinical players around him

Forfana - probably noticed I'm a big fan of his, the worst thing about him is his injury record, but a top player.

Can't see how we could expect to outscore Real Madrid with this group of players, over 2 mqtches

The quicker the season ends the better, way too frustrating watching Chelsea at the moment.

I've never been so bored as a Chelsea fan. I think the stat is that we haven't scored so few goals after this number of games for over 90 years.

At least the off field drama is quite good at the moment.
