Just to add to this. I'm pretty sure that we will see Aubameyang return to the team under Frank. It's a second chance for him, for Pulisic and for Mount.

If Frank can sort out the leaky defence that we had under him last time we might well go okay.

Happy for Mount to get the chance and am not even against Auba getting a run even though I don't think it will make much difference.

However if Pulisic is given another chance I'm setting up a banner.

Will be short lived. Benzema returning to the form of his life with back to back hattricks.

why the ~~~~ should we be worried, we have beaten better before.

To the people that don't want Lampard as interim, what would you have wanted the club to do? Bruno doesn't want the job and Nagelsman and Enrique won't be joining until the summer.

i don't get it either

they just want to make sure they get the right manager in

i don't think Lampard is a great tactician or anything

But to beat Madrid we need team spirit and mentality and we need to be led by players like Silva and Kante and Enzo, i don't see Lampard beating Ancelotti on tactics

for a Enrique and Nagelsmann to implement tactics there will never be enough time for the Madrid game so really it doesn't even matter. Then you get beat by Madrid and there is already negativity about the new manager, + the PL fixtures are basically of no importance anymore. You might get a very doubtful start for the new manager. It's better to start over with a clean slate in the summer.

Beat a couple of teams in the top half, put a dent in Arsenal's title hunt, and I call it a success for Lampard. It's a non-win situation for him really, think he's mainly doing it for the love of the club, which I totally respect and admire. I expect Mount to start this weekend, could do with something different from what we have seen for the last few games.

Take Everton out of the equation because nobody has been able to fix them…. What makes him awful exactly?

He picked the wrong players, eg Rudigier didn't get a game and was on the point of leaving early and the team lacked structure.  I don't know about his work with the players but overall we lacked the style that good teams have. Its not just in the premier league in the end Derby came close but didn't get promoted.

I don't think he projects the authority of your top manager, and I suspect he isn't highly regarded as a manager, by players he coaches but I don't know why. When you work for someone you quickly work out who is a good boss and who is a bad boss. I worked for a very good boss for 15 years, younger than me but far more talented. I always said to my wife that if that boss sacked me (it was competitive industry) I wouldn't complain as it would be the correct decision. You have to manage down and out and up. Its a multifaceted job. Above all you have to make good decisions and motivate the players. The players will be motivated if they understand and internalise what it is they have to do and why they have to do it and how it might result in success. If you can't sell that to everyone on the pitch it doesn't work.

We struggled at the basic elements of build up play and the times we did manage to stumble our way into dangerous situations our only answer was to get it out to James, Ziyech, Callum or Chilwell and throw it into the mixer, it was utterly excruciating.

And nothing changed with TT or GP - maybe SFL was dealt a bum hand after all. Either way I've yet to find anyone that could come up with a better name to solve the interim issue. Nothing to lose, everything to gain with Frankie.

I don't buy players let him down theory. Especially if it's happened at two clubs with different set of players

Nor do I... that's why I'm hoping he's learned something from his previous experience... maybe the nice guys don't win rule.

TBF, forgive the pun, he's a bit too like Potr for me... so I'm expecting it to be more of the same unless he's progressed and developed his managerial skills.

Buzzed to see my back at the bridge.. if nothing else he brings with him an authority and an understanding of what the chelsea winning mentality is about.. I don’t think we will get the we played well when we draw with Nottingham from him.

I don’t understand what the negativity is about .. yes he is no Pep not at this point but he is the best caretaker we could think off plus will energise most supporters who have memories beyond the last 5-10 years.

Had Lamps been given the support like GP who knows. You call it historical bonds or irrational emotions, for some of us SFL can do no wrong so call me a hypocrite but I don’t care our favourite son is back and i am buzzing!!!

plus all the talk of Rudiger- he was a wreck under lamps and really struggled in a back 4 - same reason he doesn’t start for RM week in week out. Kepa was playing at Championship Level.. Majority of the forum wanted Alonso out for the last 3 seasons and Jorgi wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea..

that’s right and yet look at how Tuchel made the same crew perform. That’s the point. Rudigier hardly had a bad kick in the first year of Tuchel.

What if he does really well - maybe this is an extended interview.  Stranger things have happened.

I'd really love him to do well... and even if he doesn't it'll be better than watching Potr get it wrong every week.

Let's hope he's strong enough to, leave the "personalities" and "seniority" aside, pick our best team of 11 , stick with them and not be afraid to bench whoever is not giving the 110% you have to give to win games in this league.

My concern is that Frank is too passionate as a caretaker. I know they are not available but I would have preferred someone who already had somewhere to go afterwards, a bit like Guus did.

With an over inflated squad both in numbers and egos, I would have rather we had someone totally dispassionate, literally picking the players in form and those not in are not worried about. The manager gets to do his thing in a cocoon and is impervious to any sniping and those players on the outside know that he is definitely gone in two months regardless of what happens.

I would hope that would have bred a true meritocracy. But as mentioned, who is out there?

I think the concern that we all have is that Frank does do well which superficially will give us all a lift but if he gets it permanently I think we all know it will fall apart. I am praying that our young defenders don't get scarred by this experience as Frank and his team have proven both here and at Everton his teams can't defend for sh*t

Going in with very low expectations for the remainder of the season. Hope for the best. If we manage some miracle run in CL like 2012 I really hope the board don't make a rash decision and appoint him long term. I love lamps but he has not shown anything as a manager to justify getting another stab at the role (even inclusive of the above scenario which can happen).

The Club (Boehly & Co), have seriously f**ked up so are now doing something to get the fans back on board.

But we shouldn't be in this position. The guys we are linked with - Enrique (God NO), Nagalsmann (maybe, but risky) and Pochettino (Yes Please) are all out of work and if the club had acted swiftly enough (after the Everton match and in the International break), we could have someone in place now ready for the CL ties with Madrid.

Like all CFC supporters, I love Lamps but I'm not at all comfortable with him being given this interim role. He's on a hiding to nothing and it WILL end in tears. The romantics amongst our support are dreaming of him pulling off a miracle and us winning the CL, but that just won't happen with this squad. Really feel sorry for Lamps, seeing him smiling and happy to be back at the club and maybe he feels if he can pull off a miracle, he has a chance of staying on - but it won't happen and I see him being treated like an ex, just being brought back for a gratuitous shag until a better option is found.

Hope he can do himself justice and bring a bit of pride back but for me this is just another twist in a very poor and forgettable season.

That said - Good Luck SFL.
