i never really disliked Pochettino even though he was the spurs manager

he is a Bielsa disciple

as a manager he is charismatic, not so sure if he's capable of being an elite manager who wins trophies though

A NEW SHERIFF IS IN TOWN

i like him as a player as well

always kicking everyone

and he hates barcelona!

and imagine if he is succesful, Spurs fans will be fuming and heartbroken

we got super Pochettino

go f**k yourself Infantino

he hates Barcelona

he ran with the bulls in Pamplona

he used to work for the Spurs

now he can finally have some trophies reimbursed

he is as happy as can be

no longer having to work with that bald c**t Levy

it's a first draft

I suppose we can't be too greedy these days, just sign him up before he changes his mind. To be fair, despite being Spurs manager, I don't recall him being disrespectful to Chelsea, unless one of the interims we had. He was able to work with Spurs and Southampton, surely he'd get something out of Chelsea players.

OK - If it's to be MoPo than so be it. Not my choice, and tbh I hated him and his players attitudes during his spell at Spurs (espec that game at the Bridge where they all completely lost it). BUT if he's the man that Todd gives the armband too than I'll be right behind him. He's just so meh...

Say what you want about Pochettino, but he was Tottenhams best gaffer they've had in years.

Remember 3 point lane? He was the only one who changed that and actually beat us at the Bridge twice when we were at our most dangerous. Spanked us 5-3 under Mourinho, and 2-0 to end our 13 game winning streak under Conte.

Tottenham was actually a team that I feared playing when he was there, before and after that we could always expect a result from them.

He's certainly bottled a few trophies at Tottenham, but so did serial winners like Mourinho and Conte off the back of the players he developed there.

I'm not saying he's going to prove people wrong and make Chelsea into a force, but I wouldn't be surprised if he surprises a lot of people on here.

Don Hutchison, who made 220 Premier League appearances for five clubs, thinks Chelsea should be considering Brighton boss Roberto di Zerbi.

"I don't think he [Boehly] should look any further than Roberto di Zerbi," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"Brighton gave them an absolute footballing lesson last week. Chelsea have gone soft and I've never associated that with them.

"Chelsea fans and Todd Boehly might be thinking 'we can't go back to Brighton again' after what happened with Graham Potter but actually be courageous, if you have to go back to Brighton to get the right man then be courageous and put your neck on the line and get the best manager for the job.

"If you bring De Zerbi in, give him money, give him licence to bring players in, but also choose the 12-15 that go out the door."

He's spot on there.

Anyone just a bit nervous now that Spuds have sacked their interim?? Could they make a late push for Pochettino? Although they have shown no interest in taking him back up until now. Their players, staff and fans all wanted him back, which is a bonus for us, as coming to Chelsea, he will really piss them off 🤭

I don’t give a fek about little spurs, especially their sh*te fans, they would all want Pochettino back, but I can’t see him wanting to because of Levy.

Pochettino's appointment actually makes sense on so many levels to be fair. He is a very good manager, is PL proven, has a history of working with and improving young players while playing an attractive brand of football and to be honest we are not really in the position of taking any more risks with unproven guys like Kompany.

Pretty sure that on top of being offended that they've not been offered the job immediately, Nagelsmann and Enrique would have come with some requests for new transfers, too, they must have had a few players they felt they should have transfered from day one and I am not sure the board is willing to invest another 150-200M on new players just to please the new manager.

Preferably they find a manager willing to work with the current squad and improve all the young players and Pochettino ticks all the boxes.

Immediate gutfeeling is that we will grow to regret that we appointed Pochettino over Nagelsmann. I actually think Pochettino is a good manager but he impressed in a very different era in the Premier League and I was surprised he failed that hard at PSG so hiring a manager who's not been convincing since 2018 is an obvious risk.

And one thing I already know is that his philosophy of slow build-up in possession will not be appreciated here but hopefully the results are good.

Pretty sure his style leans more toward pressing than slow build up possession

That's two different things.

Out of possession he will presumably favour pressing as he did at Tottenham. But in possession and building up from the back he will presumably go for slow and methodical build up. He did that both at Tottenham and at PSG.
Here is a video that you'll have to mute if you want to watch it but it gives you an idea of how his Tottenham side built from the back.

If one preferes direct and more attacking football then Nagelsmann would have been the obvious choice.

I know it's Simon Jordan. I do respect his opinion sometimes, but other times, like this, he does talk nonsense. Nobody knows how Pochettino will do at Chelsea. He wouldn't have been my first choice. I have been adamant on Enrique, but now he's out the race I am in support of Pochettino.

I don't get Simon here. Ask him last season and he wouldn't have said Newcastle would be top four, or Brighton would get to a semi-final of the FA Cup and in with a chance of Europe, or even Arsenal would be challenging for the league.

Nobody knows for sure what will happen next season. It's no secret we need an efficient striker. We get that and who knows what will happen. We have no god given right to win the league or trophies, so who knows. At least Pochettino has won trophies with PSG.

Not sure how he failed at PSG. He won three trophies with them in one and a half seasons. He spent half a season at PSG first time. Before Tuchel came to Chelsea his resume wasn't spectacular. Taking Spurs to a CL final is more impressive than taking PSG to a final in Europe tbh.

I have been a bit harsh on Pochettino in the past tbh, but reading more about him he is a good coach. People are blinkered by him being an ex spurs coach, but he did a better job with Tottenham, arguably than Jose and Conte, and they are top coaches.

From that article:

Everybody can tell or has told stories of Pochettino’s inclusivity, how he strives to make every member of staff – and not just the players – feel a part of the wider community at a club. Here is another. Bonfire Night 2017 at Spurs, and Pochettino gets everyone together for a barbecue; players and their families, staff and their families, too.

The person flipping the burgers on the grill wears a cap and regular clothes, head down as he concentrates, and nobody really notices him until they go for their food. When he looks up, they see it is Pochettino. He loves to put himself at the heart of things, to be hands-on, together with his assistants Jesús Pérez, Miguel D’Agostino, Toni Jiménez and Pochettino’s son Sebastiano; to watch academy games, to connect his club from the bottom up.

Jaysus.

Fat-faced, crappy-bearded, Sp*** reject, woke softy.

I think it's pronounced 'Heh-zus'

I like Pochettino. He was the one for me once we sacked Potter. Good football, proven experience in the Premiership and pushed Spurs to a CL final on a limited budget ( compared to other clubs) He can handle the big names ( or I do mean egos?) He will love the likes of Silva and Kante and will get the best out of the younger players. I'm so glad it wasn't Nagelsmann or Enrique..

I have me doots but he has a better cv than potter as far as I’m concerned. I suppose he did win something at psg. Kind of gives me the Emery at Arsenal vibe. Hope I’m wrong. Management ran a process which they needed to do and if this is the collective decision I will respect it and look forward to next season.

I think some parallels can be made with Tuchel too. Took a relatively underperforming team at the time to new heights (Southampton/Dortmund), took serial European bottle jobs to a CL final (PSG/Spurs), then came to a big club to kick on and win things (Chelsea). Both coming to Chelsea on the back of winning leagues with PSG too. I think Pochettino is easier to get along with than TT was and shouldn't cause much unrest for the board while also creating that bond with the team and uniting the players. Lets hope he has TT's winning mentality too.

Considering half the forum thought Potter would be great and the other half thought Tuchel would he great for Bayern Munich I'm just of the opinion that none of us know anything about managers and in that case we should appoint the manager that will annoy Tottenham fans the most.
