Yeah and it sounds like Poch is trying to rectify it but only using 15 players to help create connections and chemistry. Makes complete sense.

September 24, 20232 yr It is easy to blame Clearlake in the abundance of signing inexperienced attacking players, but there are still so many tactical issues up front that Pochettino continues to ignore. - Only 2 players being a box threat. - The Enzo + Gallagher redundancy. Both doing the same role which leaves a void from attack to midfield. - Sterling be treated as a creator vs being an option in the box. - The pragmatism and reactionary substitutions. - Gallagher getting a full 90 minutes over Enzo playing in his natural role. - Silva being shoehorned into the team when time and time again he's been more of a liability over our younger CBs. We could yet again find ourselves just above relegation come 2024.
September 24, 20232 yr Other than the ref/gusto, he takes majority of the blame for the loss. Plays a centre back in full back while we have two natural ones and keeps shoe horning gallagher in the midfield. Obviously our forwards arent doing enough up front but the decline in chances today compared to previous games is imo from his tinkering
September 24, 20232 yr Problem is, who else do you bring in? There weren't many options over the summer. Pretty much just him, Nagelsman and Enrique. Now there's even less.

(Mudryk can play to his strengths too imo) However, it is leaving Silva to act as a CB in a back 4 which creates a lot of issues in defensive transition. Chilwell at LB and Colwill at LCB should of been a move made after the West Ham match. The Gallagher thing and the lack of box threats are the biggest issues for me, on top of Poch's reactionary pragmatism. Edited September 24, 20232 yr by Sconnie Blue
September 24, 20232 yr I know we have a very young squad but he really should be guiding them to play how he wants them to. We may be in transition period but he’s been here since 1st of July and we haven’t really seen any changes. He’s been a massive disappointment so far and really he should be doing a lot better. 1 win in 6 games is pisspoor, even Nottingham Forest who signed a whole team last summer is doing better. I’ll accept a season bedding in the new players but I still expect better than this.

September 24, 20232 yr One of the most overrated coaches of the last 10 years. He didn't overachieve at Tottenham, he had a great squad with one of the best strikers of the generation, won f**k all, got sacked after a bad run of form and then got the PSG job and somehow failed to win the title. I never wanted him in the first place. That said, as average as he is as a coach, I doubt any coach available can fix the mess at this point. You would need the very best coaches in the game to get something out of this lot, but they're all taken and wouldn't touch this job if they were offered it.

September 24, 20232 yr If only the scouting systems for players were applied to managers more often, Spurs took a chance on Ange and it paid off, he’s implementing a whole new style in such a short space of time and they lost their best player. Poch got this job on reputation, the ever evolving PL has past him by; there is a reason even United stayed way clear of him.

To be fair, if it wasn't for Costa/Hazard/Kante, Conte would have not been as successful in his first season at the club. Poch doesn't have the luxury of a 20 goal a season striker or one of the best attacking players in the PL over the last decade to help him out. it's harsh to criticise him so harshly when what he's got to work with is still so new. It's unfortunate because the quality of the aforementioned 3 players just isn't out there at the moment, and what there is there's a lot of competition for. We are still yet to find our Hazard and Costa, and have been since they both left. Edited September 24, 20232 yr by enigma

Spurs front line from today Johnson Son - Madison - Kulu (1 raw player) Chelsea front line Jackson Murdyk - Enzo - Sterling (3 raw players) 😁
September 24, 20232 yr Btw talking about raw player n manager Brighton vs bournemouth Horrible 1st half : 3 raw players + Welbeck 2nd half Mitoma, ansu fati in -> Mitoma scored 2😁😁 Edited September 24, 20232 yr by Bob stark
September 24, 20232 yr Why bring in a new coach just to have that horrid run destroy them? Let Poch have that run. If we end up where we expect then gives the board an excuse. 31 minutes ago, Term_X said: Dont they do that every game?
September 24, 20232 yr What I hate most about Poch is his lack of passion. He didn`t even protest Gusto`s red card. Imagine if there was Jose, Conte or Tuchel at the sideline.
September 24, 20232 yr Also after today: 6 - Chelsea have played more league games, and conceded more league goals (6) than they have scored goals and collected points (both 5).

I’ll accept a season bedding in the new players but I still expect better than this. Poch is a poor manager but he is maybe 1/3 of the problem The problem is Boehly being an absolute idiot. You can`t expect kids and 39 year old Silva to be competitive in the PL. There needs to be a backbone of experienced players. There need to be players on the pitch that are actually good at football. We have a bunch of athletes. No one can shoot. No one can take a set piece. No one can cross. No one apart from Enzo can pass. All we can do is run around like headless chicken. No manager can come in and get this squad to perform at a level that would see us reach top 6 or even top 8. We are just piss poor. Sterling is past his best. Reece is constantly injured. Sanchez is a back-up keeper. Jackson is a poor mans Salomon Kalou. Mudryk and Madueke have potential and will likely end up becoming good players but they are too young to carry the attack on their backs at this point. Gallagher is a squad player that should see a few minutes here and there not captain the team. Caicedo played well in an overperforming Brighton side. No one knows how good he is. I know nothing about Lavia but he won`t be an instant impact player either. Silva is 39. The squad is simply NOT good. And that`s the real problem. Spending 1 billion and not having actually good players ... Mastermind Boehly.
