May 21, 20242 yr “Understand Pochettino's departure followed candid and amicable conversations. It was mutually agreed by Chelsea and Pochettino there were strategic mismatches. Pochettino was appreciated for his bond with the players and laying football foundations that make it easier for his replacement to succeed. An enhanced role in recruitment was not the sticking point. Chelsea want a young manager. Not expected to go back to Thomas Tuchel.” Ben Jacobs
May 21, 20242 yr Ah come on you lot. Tuchel? Jose? List of youth workers? Font be suckered in. A few days ago RDZ leaves by "mutal consent", despite rumours a club paid his release clause but don't want that public. Now Poch leaves, and we love all things Brighton. I joked the other day about ETH but come on,you have to know it will be RDZ.

May 21, 20242 yr Looks like we have a 4 year transition plan because whoever we hire will get fired after a season. First of all. Why in the world do we have 2 sporting directors. Management is a joke
May 21, 20242 yr Chelsea have no plans to go back for Thomas Tuchel, Conte or Mourinho. (@Matt_Law_DT) #CFC
May 21, 20242 yr Well... Despite being tentatively poch in, I'm not that sorry to see him go. Nice man though. Not hugely confident the leadership will get it right. I know the the reasons why people don't want him or think it wouldn't work but I'd absolutely love tuchel to return. I'd love it!

May 21, 20242 yr Headlines incoming over the next few weeks. “Chelsea’s new manager plans Lukaku talks” “Chelsea manager a big fan of Kepa.” 😜

Fans only want to bond when results are going well which they weren’t for large parts of the season. I actually agree with him that any attempts at badge kissing or fist pumping etc would of been fake.
May 21, 20242 yr Matt Law suggesting the directors weren't satisfied with Poch's brand of football. No control and no defensive stability.
May 21, 20242 yr So what happens if the new manager struggles and we are in 10 at Christmas 15 points off the top? Also didn’t Cole said the players back Poch and love him?? I can see the players downing tools if the next manager struggles. They continued to play for Poch even during the worst moments.

May 21, 20242 yr f**king hell, only at Chelsea. Just as he's starting to bring this ragtag bunch of random signings into something resembling a coherent team. Let's just throw that progress down the drain and start again, shall we?
May 21, 20242 yr Fabrizio Romano: "Chelsea and Pochettino decided to part ways. They were not on the same page in terms of future projects, summer transfer window, involvement of the manager in the summer signings and also the owners of Chelsea were not convinced about going on with Mauricio Pochettino as the manager."

May 21, 20242 yr This thread took me through a lot of emotions. Called him a clown a couple months ago and was advocating for De Zerbi for so long. End of the season got me on Pochettino should 100% stay camp and his switch to the 3-2-4-1, inverted full back, Pep ball won me over. Guess he never connected with the Chelsea fan base and the rumours of him wanting to be involved in the transfer strategy were true. Now that he is gone, I go back to my main guy. I believe De Zerbi is the right one to take us to the next level.

And they nearly bottled promotion after being 10 points clear. In fairness Ipswich getting double promoted is an amazing achievement, but lower league success doesn't always translate upwards. Yeah it’s nothing special but probably shows he’s not a dummy. Great achievement by mckenna but I’d be very wary of someone who hasn’t managed in a top flight (same for Maresca) The last guy to do It about 10 years ago is now managing in league 2 after bouncing around league 1 & championship before that.
