Nicholas Jackson... I think he's a really good premiership striker shaping up here. I enjoy watching his effort and commitment. Long may it continue with a healthy dose of goals sprinkled out along the way. A little more composure would go a long way for him.

Think I've seen enough to form the opinion that Nicholas Jackson is NOT the answer to our ongoing striker problems. Simply not good enough.

The calibre of player the owners have signed is shocking. There are hundreds of players exactly like Jackson out there. 

So much talk about their potential, but what potential? I'm not seeing anything from players like Jackson to suggest that they will go on to a really high level. As soon as Broja is fit, I would have him over Jackson easily.

I was so hopeful after preseason, but he looks awful.

This guy is awful.  Earlier in this thread, when there were all these Drogba comparisons, I said Paul Furlong 2.0.  Doing Paul Furlong a massive disservice!  A half fit Broja over Jackson please!

Worst I've ever seen him today has to be said.

Still think he can become a good player though. But he looks lost when he has no space to run onto, I can't even remember seeing him a lot of the time did he even get in the box?

Think that's my biggest problem with all the crap young "talents" we've signed.

Most just aren't particularly talented,  better players than Jackson and Madueke have been released from our academy or sold for peanuts for not being Chelsea quality 

Yet we've spent more money on less talented young players in the hopes they'll be proper players in a couple years time.

This, and it's a downward spiral unfortunately. This then rubs off onto the others. Like others been saying for years WE NEED A STRIKER. An out and out striker/goal scorer. Who i don't know. 🙁

The owners have been off the mark with player acquisitions. They might have the right strategy for whatever it is they are trying to achieve financially but as for success in the pitch.....

All that money would have been better spent on 5 or 6 players with a star player in every zone of pitch and reduce some of the deadwood. Would have served the team better.

Their folly is unbelievable and to think they had the team in place to help them out cast aside.

Evident he should be a 2nd choice striker at best. Asking too much of him too soon. 

I don’t know why they even bother passing to him. Might as well boot it out it achieves the same thing , giving the opposition the ball. He’s beyond useless in my eyes and as for Poch having a go at supporters for moaning about him well they pay there money so feck him

He'll help but we really need a ruthless finisher against sides like Brentford. 

He's been atrocious all season. Scored against Brighton to mask a brutal performance and other than that he's got two dead rubber goals v Luton and Burnley.

It was so obvious going into the season with him leading the line was going to hurt us big time, baffling decision.

I like this guy but he's raw. 

Unpopular opinion, but the club need a flat track bully. For all his sins, Lukaku puts the ball in the back of the net against these types of sides. 

Another unpopular opinion, Tammy Abraham also had a knack of scoring against these types of sides. 

I cannot explain why, we now struggle to score. Players not taking responsibility? Luck? not being ruthless as Poch suggested today? We are struggling from all areas of the pitch to score or even shoot. We've had 4 managers in 18 months and they still couldn't get us scoring. 

Just want to see Jackson turn into a nasty bit of work who will go through defenders, elbow, kick, scrape studs down heels. If you're not scoring, then you have to compete physically... The EPL is a big step u

I just don’t understand what on earth happened to Jackson. He looked like a real player at start of the season, taking on players, making runs, fantastic build up play. It’s like he completely lost all of it overnight.

Sorts out the men from the boys. Jackson isn't bad he just doesn't cut the mustard as a lone striker. Too lightweight. Not physical enough. Same as Werner. Same as Abraham. Weak players in a strong league.

This. Playing st in PL is very difficult. It is just very physical. 

Jackson is fine, the fact that we are left with Jackson is TT's fault. Tammy and Lukaku debacle are just stupid. Should have kept at least one of them.
