I think 2 Jacksons might be enough to send me insane

It is absolutely absurd. The guy (Maresca) is a blind joker. It's almost as if he is saying it to justify the lunacy of selecting Jackson, hoping that it comes true.

Jackson is rubbish. Maresca is also rubbish for continuing with this charade.

We do look a lot worse with Nkunku up front instead of Jackson though

Jackson's not world class but at least he runs and offers some physicality

I think at this point it's undeniable that we are a better team with Jackson in it, however, it's because he's the only striker we have. If we had a striker who had his attributes and could actually shoot we'd be in a much better league position.

We need to get out of this mindset.

I agree that in this current system, we look better with Jackson than the marginalized Nkunku who looks like he has all but checked out. But that doesn’t mean that the headless chicken act of Jackson is worth having or the right way forward. Any manager who thinks Jackson is the perfect Centre forward is a joker.

What Maresca is doing is playing a mind numbing, ultra negative and predictable possession football - and then have a fraud like Jackson up front running around like a headless chicken.

What he should be doing - is building a team and system and style that suits our best and most competent players, the ones that will win us games and trophies once embedded. That does not include Jackson.

What attributes?

Can’t head, can’t shoot, can’t assist, can’t win physical duels, doesn’t take set pieces, doesn’t score from outside the box, doesn’t have a football brain, liability…

All he does is run around like a headless chicken. Is that an attribute we should celebrate?

It is absurd that Maresca builds a team around this fraud.

This is where I'd disagree, his build up play is great and he's a massive handful for defenders because of that, his ability to bring other players into play makes us a much better team overall. Everything else I'll agree with, this alone isn't enough to warrant being a starter for a club like Chelsea, but to say he doesn't bring anything to the team is being a bit disingenuous.

I think there are margins of error in both of our framing. I agree that his “bull in a china shop” routine creates a handful for defenders - but this is not an attribute I give any value to. Any kid could do the same.

I've noticed you always defend the manager no matter what, there's got to be some point where you can admit that a manager isn't good enough. This type of thinking is a fallacy in its own right, sometimes, the manager just isn't good enough.

The manager is first year Premier League manager and not very experienced in managing kind of like our young players. I don't defend him per say. I just understand the meaning of continuation in managers.

Well to be precise we need to talk about coach here. The role is somewhat smaller than the years of Jose or Ancelotti. If you have a good basis for the football and an identity you can replace the coach more easy.

Liverpool is a good example or trusting the coach and building with time. Naturally you need tons of luck in that as well.

They replaced Klopp with Slot and didn't miss a beat. Arsenal is doing okay with Arteta I think.

If the club and players are not okay with Enzo we should change him. At this moment there is no indication of that.

We have invested hundreds of millions in players when we should have acquired at least a decent manager. Why did they bring in a poor amateur to replace Poch?

Awful manager. But has awful players. Anyone who takes this shower of sh*t on won't get us top 4.

Hire sh*t sporting directors, who hire sh*t managers and sign sh*t players. This is the result. sh*t.

I wonder what eivisy is thinking right now. Yeah, “a rookie coach with a young team”. We’re playing a team that’s a rookie in the PL, that is dogsh*t but has scored twice from two attacks.

Maresca is just our version of Ange. Just like every f**king amateur manager in the PL, he has been found out.

Hmm, is like someone has been refuring to him as "Big Enz" for months already...

He's never going to change his mind, he's in too deep at this point.

Despite today, despite Fulham maybe also doing the double over us next week. Despite us probably finishing 7th, maybe 8th. Despite the conference league not being the lock it was before.

Despite all that they won't change manager ahead of their precious club world cup windfall.

Maresca is so poor. Seeing every preseason game I was concerned, tv and live.

The players then returned from Euros and South American cup, and they flew. The more time Maresca spends with them the more they regress - the football now is reminiscent of preseason.

He’s just not the right man to develop these young players. Beyond that, his decision making (player selection, subs timing) comes up short every time.

People have been fired for far less.

So, the idea of his inverted fullbacks, is to give the wingers more 1-on-1s out wide, and to provide more bodies in the middle, yeah?

But it doesn't happen like that. The wingers never get 1-on-1s, because defenders double up. Watch any of our games and Madueke, Neto, Sancho, whoever, when they have the ball out wide, have 2 or 3 defenders to beat, not 1. So it ends up coming back inside again, where players like Gusto and Cucurella are also being misused, because they are not CMs, and pretending they can be, when someone like Gusto can barely pass the ball, is idiotic. Whereas if they were supporting the winger and offering overlapping runs, we might actually beat someone out wide instead.

Everything is just overly complicated for no reason other than trying to be a hipster cool manager who doesn't stick to the norm.

Now watch the c**t praise a great performance to come back from being 2 nil down to a relegated team that has nothing to play for.

I want him to be sacked, but I'm terrified of who the idiots who appointed him might replace him with.

Season is pretty much over now. No way on earth we take more points than Newcastle, City, Villa, and Forest.

Season filled with terrible results and terrible performances.

Don't even blame Maresca, he was never good enough. Blame has to lie on the board who appointed these sporting directors, and set this "philosophy".

Can't see Maresca staying, fans have turned.
