Please no more George at striker, try Noni, Neto or even Tosin

Play anybody there and they will struggle because Maresca thinks he can play a player in an unnatural position and change absolutely nothing to help them out.

We have no striker, so Maresca should change it up a bit. George, Neto, Madueke, if you're going to stick them in that position, place somebody next to them, and put Palmer on the right wing and have him drift centrally.

I will take that at this point of the season.

but my god some of the finishing this season has really been a problem.

That madueke miss could have come back to haunt us….

Anyway on to the next game

Truer words have not been spoken.

I'm conflicted because wins mean CL, but they also mean Maresca keeps his job.

I dunno.

Maresca keeps his job either way, so we might as well enjoy whatever we get out of the CL. If we get there.

Always a pleasure to beat ManU, but I can't say I've had a lovely evening. The win barely conceals our level of garbageness.

I had to make do with radio commentary tonight with plenty of interruption from the family, but we didn’t sound great. But then again, reading Evisy’s summation of the performance suggests that we’re already nailed on favourites to win the CL next season.

It's a shame because we know there will be zero enjoyment if we keep playing this way.

Poor performance overall, fantastic result regardless, a successful season in the EPL comes down to the last match against this season's surprise package Notts Forest

We had another manager we hated bigtime, the Fat Spanish Waiter, it was a similar situation with him in 2013 Vs Everton but at home, even he got us in the CL !

We created one chance for Madueke that may have been offside, had one worldie shot from James, only just caught Maguire offside and made a sh*t ton of unforced errors. Even in the second half, we did f**k all until James took it upon himself to pull off something brilliant again.

Evissy, seriously, how the f**k are you not seeing this? There is no progress here, the attack is basically relying on a defender to ghost into a position and save us.

Please calculate me how many points we gained today. Please tell me what MU did in the game. Please tell me we didn't press well today until the final minutes.

Maybe your expectations were something else from the game other than 3 points... can't help you with that

I am happy we are very close in a CL spot. The young side is learning to win games together. We haven't won MU lately, today we did.

If you want us to win with style I am afraid you need to wait for a while. I am fine with the 3 points and clearly a happy squad.

We were winning with plenty of style before Christmas, why haven't we won in similar fashion since? Maybe because the bonehead in charge decided to force his sh*te football on the team that now has them desperately holding on for 5th place after being comfortable in 2nd.

I shouldn't have to wait to watch my team play good football. It's not something that will come over time just by sticking to what we're currently doing. Even a team that losses can play good football.

As the game went on, it looked like it had a 0-0 written all over it. Thankfully one bit of quality from James, matched by Cucurella's header and we get three points by the skin of our teeth.

Happy with the win but a Very difficult watch. Have got used to the dull football with little happening and a coach who doesn't appear to know how to change things. One more win and we are somehow back in the CL, but we will need more goal threat v Forest.

Think on a positive note these young lads winning big pressure games can only do them good for their future development. Hopefully win the last 2 remaining games and we see a development from the team that bottled the league cup final.

Considering we played without a striker and George was a passenger, we did well to get three points out of it. Credit to James and Cucurella. But that was a really hard watch and we only made it by the skin of our teeth. Hope we put in a better performance in the last game.

George is very young....ran his bollox off all night hassling & harrying big Harry....not a centre forward but tried his best ...agree maresca should have changed it up with non existent Noni & Neto, maybe he would have done better on wing every now & again.......Noni was our weakest link again & no help to the young fella.....

Caicedo proving he was cheap at the price, Cucu proving last years doubters wrong....Colwell played his best game of season....Enzo poor again tonight...

Few wee tweaks & maybe some experience in defence & up front, maybe we will push a bit better next season .....

Those Neto crosses were infuriating.

The players must have been aware they’d be quite a bit of extra time, so god knows why we were wasting time at minute 89. Gusto had all game to rest up, and come on with more energy than anyone else, yet he squandered that chance late on.

We need a total overhaul on both wings next season, Madueke has had MORE than enough time to prove himself by now, times up.

Forest is either going to be a nervy one to the end, or like Newcastle, just a clean straight forward defeat, no in-between.

Out of all wingers we have, Madueke would be one I’d want to keep.

Credit to Cucu this season might be the most improved player as he has scored a number of vital goals, nice foot work by James though not sure he looks to me, though heputs in a dangerous place.

We apparently loaded up on wingers in these previous windows yet Madueke & Neto are starting?

Two of the most infuriatingly nothing players we’ve had in a long while.

Gone are the days of Robben & Duff, hell I’d settle for Willian & Pedro at this rate again.
