Oscar - Little Diamond

Featured Replies

I agree he shouldn't have come off but who else would you have taken off? Would never take Hazard off, Fabregas has that moment of magic in his locker. Possibly Willian but he is better at playing wider than Oscar is. Shame he went off though as he was looking sharp and beating people quite easily.

Fabregas, for the simple reason that Fabregas was having a really poor game and looks nowhere near ready for the season yet. Fabregas may have moments of magic but i would rather we left Oscar on who looks fitter, can track back, can tackle and can come up with his own pieces of magic too. It would have been better than leaving Fabregas on and just hoping that he would somehow come up with something special.

I actually think Oscar and Willian coming off almost ruined any chance we had of winning. We never really looked like losing with 10 men but i could see moments where we could easily have won. With both Oscar and Willian on the field at the same time i really think we could have won.

What a fantastic player he is when he's in form, I just hope we will have the best of him against City once again, also for the rest of the season.

Missed him badly against city. Costa seems so isolated without him on the pitch. Must play number 10 for the foreseeable future that's for sure

Yap - just look at Costas best form and it came in a period when Oscar was doing well. He's just to issolated other wise. Costa does his best work in the box. He's not a suarez type player. So you need to get boddys in and around him

It really is like the Schurrle treatment. Oscar has an average / poor game, he goes missing for weeks, just like Schurrle. Oscar isn't the only one that get's this treatment either, it seem's to be happening to other players too.

To be honest, i'm getting a bit tired of it. It's clear for all to see that some players are getting favoured over others, i don't see how this can be good for team morale.

Just hasn't kicked on as a player. Can see him leaving in the summer if this continues. We need a goal scoring midfielder, we have no threat from the midfield, he should be that player..but he isn't unfortunately

"This is the first time I have started pre-season and for me this is very, very important," he told the club's official website on Friday.

"It is important to stay with the family and friends and the full holiday for me this time is very important because for five years I didn’t have that holiday, and in the last three years I played more than 200 games and this is a lot."

Blues boss Jose Mourinho said in May he believed a break away from international commitments this summer could see Oscar reach the heights that Eden Hazard achieved last season.

"Now, because he’s injured he’s not going to the Copa America and I have a feeling that next year Oscar can have the same kind of evolution as [Eden] Hazard had this season," the Portuguese tactician said.

Oscar agrees with his coach, and the midfielder revealed he was aiming to score more goals next term in the hope of helping Chelsea clinch more silverware.

"I think the same [as Mourinho]," the Brazil international said.

"I want to play better and I want to score more goals and to play my best football, because I know my quality and I know for sure I can make this season better than last season, and last season was a good season because we were champions and won two competitions.

"I want to be champion in more competitions this season."

Blimey! What happened?

It's like a disease out there, one player out form, infect into 2, 3, numbers grow, before you know it you can't find 11 players to fill the team sheet. Judging by tonight, he hasn't earned a start for Saturday, but what has Farbragas done to keep his spot, or what hasn't RLC done to earn his spot? It's all too confusing out there.

Sorry if I have said this before, and he is definitely not soley to blame, but i think this guy is seriously overrated.

If he was Bob Jones from Bristol I seriously dont think he'd be anywhere near our team! Obviously slightly joking with that but if someone is prepared to pay £25m plus, i think we should snap there hands off.

With Hazard, Fabregas, Pedro, Willian..if they play poorly I am disappointed because I know what they can do. I seriously doubt Oscars ability and therefore comes no suprise when he loses the ball time after time.

Bar Juve (which seems a million years ago) can anyone name a game he has taken by the scruff of the neck and won for us?

Tried to do it first game of the season but got taken off.

I rewatched that game and he was stunning until he was subbed. Didnt put a foot wrong and everything we did had him involved. Must be a matter of confidence.

As far as Mata goes, we won the league with Oscar not him, cant be that bad of a decision. His services were not required

Oscar is good at some nitty gritty stuff, but he is overrated

the above poster is right, how many times have we seen him take the fight to the other them, go on direct dribbles and split teams open? rarely

A couple of nice goals a season and he glides by....

bloody hell he was one of the shining lights a few weeks ago and people couldn't wait for him to return, he comes back and now people are slating him. oscar is as good as most when he's on top form. oscar is one of the last players who should be getting slated considering his desire to play for the club. there is a defence that's leaking, a pivot that's god awful and a striker that can't hit a barn door, oh and our best player according to many has gone into hiding, and yet oscar is the one with fingers pointed at him  :face_palm:

I think it might be a good idea to let him play just off the striker and leave up there for the most part. He isn't around the danger areas often enough. Probably his best attribute is his shooting, but he's too busy 'knitting' the play sonewhere miles away most of the time.

He's not that great of a finisher to play that role though. One of his best attributes is his late runs into the box, you wouldn't really get that if you kept him up front.

Why should Oscar not get any critsism? Bar 45 minutes against Swansea he has been piss poor and offers nothing to the team except lots of aimless running. Our striker hasnt been on form, but it would help if our number 10 had the ability to pass him the ball
