December 16, 20169 yr @PloKoon13 I agree with much of that. Especially the Mata vs Oscar comparison. Im merely stating, right or wrong, that him being picked over Mata has contributed to the critisism. There are several several points of yours I slightly disagree with, but not enough to warrant replying as Im about to sit down with a pint and enjoy a well earned week end. I will say that I rate/rated Oscar a lot less then you it would seem. Edited December 16, 20169 yr by Xfaxtor
December 16, 20169 yr In the end, his biggest contribution to the football club is probably going to be remembered as leaving and making us sh*t loads of money.
December 16, 20169 yr I used to be puzzled by all the Russian and American billionaires buying up English clubs. Now the Chinese have entered the market it starts to become more clearer.
December 17, 20169 yr If he good to China he has lost my respect. At his age he should have other priorities than money.
December 17, 20169 yr Oscar can't win here, people want him sold, then when it looks like he is going to be sold they still attack him, some people really are pathetic.

If he stayed at Chelsea he would basically be paying over £300 a week just to watch us from the bench. I know it's a good seat but that would be a lot to pay for a season ticket. I doubt if he went anywhere else but China he would get as much as we pay him. i know it can look mercenary to go for the money but others will follow for those huge amounts. Sanchez could probably increase his wage from £120 to £500. Arsenal looking him to settle for £180.
December 17, 20169 yr Willian said to ESPN after the match that Oscar has said his goodbye's, apparently.
December 17, 20169 yr Willian said Oscar has already said goodbye to them. Edit: sorry for the duplicate. Edited December 17, 20169 yr by Tibbers
December 17, 20169 yr Conte also said this: "If you ask me 'Are you sorry?' then yes, I am sorry. I am sorry because Oscar's leaving as a really good player and good man" So this is basically confirmed then. Hope we spend the money on a striker or offensive player but i trust Conte.
December 17, 20169 yr Get an upgrade on Pedro and Willian in Jan and lets push on and win this league.
December 17, 20169 yr Some unbelievable post here. Most people don't rate Oscar and happy to let him go, as soon as he's going to China people go up and arms about him going for the money than so called 'priorities'. He's a footballer, he got a short career and bills to pay, good for him to cash in when he could. When this Chinese gold rush clams down in a year or two, he won't be getting a golden deal like this. Would the same people feel better if we send him out on loan to Juventus? Let's face it, if this deal go through, it's a deal of the century for the club. We sold a bench player ( who's injured at moment), for a club record fee. I'd sell Willian for this kind of $. We got spend the $ on the right player, that's the real issue.

December 18, 20169 yr Totally agree. Getting an upgrade on Willian/Pedro or Cesc/Matic is not something we will find in Jan
December 18, 20169 yr draxler? he's 100% leaving wolfsburg next month still 23, loads of potential, and it's always fun to gazump arsenal's transfer target
December 18, 20169 yr I'm assuming we won't be seeing Oscar again even with the suspensions for the Bournemouth game. The noises coming out about this transfer makes it sound like it's already done and we're just waiting for the transfer window to open to make it official. I think we'll be seeing a few familiar faces leave the club in the next six months, Conte is proving he doesn't need certain players who have up till now been regulars regardless of our form so I reckon there's going to be four outgoing players who up until now you wouldn't have thought would leave.

I'd be very interested in seeing what we could do with him. I imagine a player very similar to Hazard, just less dazzling/consistent going forward and slightly more into the idea of defending. But who knows.
December 18, 20169 yr Draxler instead of Oscar would be a pretty good swap I guess. I really liked oscar but his inconsistenty has hurt his game too much. You just can't rely on the guy to show up and have a good game when he's needed. Draxler could well end up as a world class player like Hazard under the guidance of Don Conte, and when paired with Hazard on the other side... My goodness.
December 18, 20169 yr It depends how much Wolfsburg wants for Draxler, if we buy him for £20mil-£25mil there wouldn't be any risk involved, because we can easily resell him for that or more. He is good with both feet, direct and likes to go past players. He also has alot of Champions League and national team experience for his age.
December 18, 20169 yr Draxler? Really? Would rather have Musonda. A german Ross barkley. So frustrating to watch.

December 18, 20169 yr Hope to see van Ginkel given a chance but would be happy if we took a punt on Calhanoglu, Musonda, or another 'unearthed talent'. If they don't work out go all in for Griezmann/James next summer.
December 18, 20169 yr My mine gripe with calhanoglu, draxler, and James, is I don't think they are pacey enough to compliment the system we are currently playing. James is a top player, and i was keen to get him in the summer before the switch in formation, but now I'm not as keen. Like others have said, I don't think the best option will be available in January, they might not even be attainable in the summer. I'd be happy to see how musonda does given a few cameos, because he has pace and trickery to burn, and he does seem to have that star quality about him.
