June 5, 20179 yr f**k THIS INT. FOOTBALL AND f**k f**kING USELESS FRIENDLIES Instead of relaxing and enjoing well deserved holidays he's been put on f**king crutches. f**k this sh*t!

This is frustrating if true. I can't see him only being out for 6-8 weeks if he needs surgery. He will definitely miss all of pre-season and probably won't play a game until September at least. I just hope the fixtures are kind to us in the early weeks of the season.
June 5, 20179 yr do national team staffs deliberately injure their players during international fixtures? i guess this makes signing a WC winger a top priority now. the board better delivers
June 5, 20179 yr Question has to be asked why do so many players get injured during international duty, my contention, they don't pay for the players and don't therefore give a sh*t, just push them to the max to get results
June 5, 20179 yr Anyone else feel like this has been coming for Hazard for awhile now? I'm just happy it happened now rather than closer to the opening fixture.
June 5, 20179 yr http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2017/06/hazard-injury-update.html?extcmp=SOCIA_TW_ENG_ARTICLES_INTERVIEW Eden Hazard successfully underwent surgery today after sustaining a fracture to his right ankle while training with the Belgian national team. He is expected to return to training in approximately three months.
June 5, 20179 yr Some better news...the Belgium team doctor has been quoted as saying that Hazard's scan showed minimal lesions on his ligaments which means that ligament damage was minimal...so a 6 to 8 week recovery period is likely...
June 5, 20179 yr The key words in the Chelsea statement are 'return to training'. So it's prob going to be a extra month on top of the 3 months for him to get match fit. Hopefully 3 months is a worst case estimate from the club, but if they are correct then I'll be surprised if we see him before October. Awful for him of course but I guess we can be selfish fans and say it's happened at the best possible time. And let's face it, we were due a big injury - it certainly could've been worse. Fingers crossed we don't get stung with some tough early fixtures.

June 5, 20179 yr Oh god no, not the mandatory "I will be stronger" post with the thumbs up picture. Didn't Eden read my post in What I hate in football, or whatever that thread was called? Disappointing.

A statement from Chelsea FC claiming "He is expected to return to training in approximately three months". Unfortunately is going to need time for fitness/match fitness. Could be another 4 weeks in addition to. Also missing pre season nearly always has an adverse effect on a players form. Edited June 5, 20179 yr by Osgood is Good

June 5, 20179 yr My main worry is that Eden has previous for returning from his summer escapades shall we say slightly plumper. Strikes me as the "switch off and enjoy it" type and worry that him missing pre-season is a much bigger deal than it would be for most.

He is expected to return to training in approximately three months. Worse than was originally reported then. 3 months ......that means he probably won't start playing properly until October and we probably won't start seeing the best of him again until January. When Robben used to pick up long term injuries for us, i never used to worry so much, we had big players that could step in for him. It's just shows the difference between our team now and our team then, we don't have the same level of players who can step up now.
June 5, 20179 yr Not to worry ... Antonio will wave his magic Italian wand and turn Matic into a goal-scoring playmaker :) Eden didn't feature at all in 4 games last season, and we won all of them.

I get encouragement from the fact that we can react to Hazard's injury right now in the transfer market.
June 6, 20179 yr No Hazard and if Matic keeps his place ahead of Fabregas the creativity will be frightening lol.

June 16, 20179 yr Some happier news it seems...Eden has said in the Chelsea magazine that he is happy at Chelsea and is looking forward to winning more trophies here...get fit soon fella... Edited June 16, 20179 yr by doctorblue
