November 7, 201510 yr Author Well to be fair JT was not really professional there. Savage had every right to reply. Tells just how on the edge JT and probably the whole team is. Grown men may I remibd you. Why wasn't JT professional? Pundits throw out harsh criticism of players all the time and what, players are expected to to keep their mouth shut? Why? Savage has thrown out some pretty harsh things since becoming a pundit, which is fine but I think JT and other players are quite right to throw criticism back. JT's comments were intended to rile Savage and it worked. Think people are far sensitive about this sort of thing.
November 7, 201510 yr Terry didn't say savage played at a bad level. He also didn't say savage wasn't entitled to an opinion. Savage's article is basically saying terry should care what every tom dick and Harry thinks about his game. Absolute tosh.

Savage's article is basically saying terry should care what every tom dick and Harry thinks about his game. Absolute tosh. Not really what the take away message is from the article. It's fine not to care about what someone thinks, doing so on the basis that they haven't played at the highest level however is pretty silly. I don't particularly care for Savage and his views but that's because he's a sh*t pundit, nothing to do with his footballing experience. Like I said before though, I doubt Terry actually thinks that way and it was something said more as a way to wind up Savage more than anything.

Savage's article is basically saying terry should care what every tom dick and Harry thinks about his game. Absolute tosh. I'm with Big B... JT didnt' say people arn't aloud oppinions, he just said he wasn't all that interested in some one like savages. And lets not forget, he was asked a question by the press, he answered it saying essentially he preferes to take on board the opinions of players that have played at the top as opposed to some one who hasn't really won all that much. JT's opinion and he's entitled to it And lets be honest - if he had called savage a dick he's be abut right aas well
November 7, 201510 yr What J.T. has achieved in football to what Savage has is like comparing a Nobel Prize winner to a Pipe Smoker Of The Year winner.
November 7, 201510 yr perhaps savage should get a new script writer for his pundit job and make sure his ghost writer isn't on holiday for his column!
November 7, 201510 yr .... Why should someone at the top of their game have to take advise from a lesser professional, and take it seriously? None of us would expect it in any other profession than sports.

I don't think it's silly if jt doesn't listen to players that haven't played at his level, that's his opinion, and Tbf he seems to have done pretty well in his career. Savage is right every has a right to an opinion on football, but that was never disputed.

He gave examples of managers like Mourinho who hadn't played at a high level.
November 8, 201510 yr That you don't need to have played at a high level to be a good analyst. He gave examples of managers like Mourinho who hadn't played at a high level. JT never said you had to have played at a high level to be a good analyst.
November 8, 201510 yr JT never said you had to have played at a high level to be a good analyst. It's no surprise to see remodez choosing to ignore that point
November 8, 201510 yr JT never said you had to have played at a high level to be a good analyst. I used the word analyst because it covers everything, not just pundits. It's another word for someone providing their opinion, which is how JT said it.

I was just about to post this myself. It seemed more like friends talking about their careers more than an interview. It shows how important his loan spell was with Forest, if it wasn't for that, he probably wouldn't have made it here. I always knew that stuff about him wanting to join City was bullsh*t. I said it at the time that he would never join them and he would sign a new deal with us. He had no reason to join City, they couldn't offer him anything more than we could. I liked his best Chelsea XI too. Imagine having that team in their prime right now........we would dominate for years.
December 5, 201510 yr That team is mouthwatering. Cech Cole Terry Carvalho Iva Makelele Lampard Hazard Robben Zola Drogba Amazing...
December 7, 201510 yr Great interview by JT! A legend of the highest order! Happy 35th Birthday to him as well.
December 15, 201510 yr Starting to question his leadership. Brana, Azpi and courtios the only ones to go to the fans after the foxes game and applaud them. Disappointing in general, a serious WTF moment from jt. Think the time is coming to pick our next captain, this season may be jts last.
December 15, 201510 yr I dont see a captain among our current squad unfortunately. Azpilicueta is the closest thing to one for me
December 18, 201510 yr Very disappointed in JT. I feel he hasn't done his duty as captain this season at all well. Maybe he knows his time is up at the club but he's now lost the manager who in retrospect brought him back to his fantastic earlier years, almost built the team around his lack of pace. No messages on social media from him, infact barely at all this season. I love the man with all my heart, but it's not only his form which has been poor this season, it's his leadership as well.
December 18, 201510 yr Will be very interesting to hear what his role in all this is, I suspect we won't find out for quite some time.
