Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23

Featured Replies

I cannot fathom how someone who cannot control a ball was able to star Serie A and command such a large transfer fee.

I'm going to have to go back and watch some videos of his Fiorentina days because i'm in disbelief.

Apparently he took a while to settle in Italy at first, so maybe that's the same here. Not sure why we keep overpaying for these players though, it's embarrassing.

I think it's really unfair to single him out yesterday. Most players were on holiday mode anyway, and we just lacked the usual precision in both attack/defence, that was a typical post season friendly performance, and stupidity from a certain individual. Mistake or not, we have to give him a chance next season. I wasn't a fan of signing him, but he's our player, even if he's a complete dud.

The lad deserves a proper pre-season and a fighting chance,

seem to recall Rambo getting slagged on here the 1st season as well

some people are just too bloody fussy and hard to please

He is not going to get one with Copa America coming up, and Jose will be nuts to gamble next season on him coming good. Hypothetically if we sign Griezmann, he goes further down the pecking order.

I agree with that.

I also think that we don't play to the strengths of players like Cuadrado and Salah as we tend to play to feet, rather than playing the ball to run on to.   Some players adapt well to our system (like Willian), can Cuadrado adapt?

I was originally pissed off because we let Matic go and I thought Rambo took a space he could have had... but yeah after that initial feeling I gotta admit he's become one of my faves.

Ramires was crap to start with, but at least you could see there were positives he could expand on, like his pace and energy to drive through the middle.

Name one positive you've seen from Curadrado so far.

He has the required wild hairdo, essential in modern football I'd say.

He'll prove the doubters wrong, as long as he doesnt get a Salah done on him. If he gets the kind of encouragement and patience Schurrle and Willian have had respectively, he'll win us over. Few decent game in a row, confidence up and he'll be flying.

Schurrle ended up having an awful run of form and being sold, and the jury is still out in a lot of quarters on Willian, so... not sure that encouragment and patience really helped them all that much.

I think it's clear there was something else going on with Schurrle and his mysterious illness/homesickness/?

Either way, point being both had have had a a good crack at stating their case. No one was expecting Schurrle to be sold after his first season and Willian has in Jose's mind established himself as a very useful player.

If Cuadrado does get as much of an opportunity as these two have had I'm confident he'll come up with the goods. The question is though, will the club allow that? If they receive a decent offer close to what we paid for him, maybe they'll decide to cash in and look elsewhere.

He did a nice little turn at home to Everton and thats been about it. Literally a 5 year old could push this guy over,so lightweight.

What are you basing this on?
