Guus Hiddink has confirmed that Diego Costa punched a hole in the tunnel wall after #Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with West Brom on Wednesday. [Goal]

 

 

I understand why he was pissed last night, he and the rest of the team were getting nothing from the refs and we rarely do. It's getting really annoying now.

My argument was if I had to choose between backing the squad or backing Jose I'd have backed Jose.

We, in my opinion, backed the lesser talent.

I'd have wrote the season off, damned with worrying about finishing in the top four and let Jose do what the four year contract intended.

Stopped giving him inexperienced youth as buffers to a squad lacking in quality in depth and signed the players he wanted which I am confortable and confident in saying wasn't happening.

After we splashed out £32 million on him, he had a great season las season too, yes he's temperamental, calling him a thug though is irrelevant, he uses antics similar to antics that a former captain used and people liked it, he remains a loved figure. At the end of the day we need a rough player, he's someone in the Keane/Viera mould and with all due repspect, it comes across soft when our own fans can't bare to see one of our own being aggressive. Also, as I mentioned earlier, it's easy to say let's look for another striker, but we'll be looking for two as it is, ditching Costa means we have three new strikers to sign, nonsensical.

 

He takes it to the extreme, he always had and as long as he is a Chelsea player Ill hope he does well, but I dont want him to be a Chelsea player,

 

Drogba slapped an opponent in full view of the referee in a Champions League final which led to our beloved captain humiliating himself and costing us football's biggest club trophy against one of our biggest rivals and yet he got his act together to achieve God-like status here. Costa has come across as all but deranged this year but its never to late for redemption in football. 

 

Yes he made his mistakes, and Drogba was a big villain too, but Costa was deranged last year too, he just did it with more goals.

 

So you'd sell Costa, the best striker we've had since we signed Anelka.

You'd sell Matic, the best holding player we've had since Makalele.

You'd sell Hazard, our player of the year.

You'd sell Fabregas, a player who has won almost everything and is by far our best passer of the ball.

Once you've shipped out those four based on a bad four months, who exactly are you going to replace them all with?

 

Costa is a thug, people say its irrelevant but its true.

 

Matic is not the best holding player we have had, he had a good 14 months and the last 8 or so have been pretty horrible. 

 

Hazard, who hasnt got a goal or assist in over 2000 minutes? Believe it or not I would, the best dont have spells like that.

 

Fabregas is showing signs of progress now, but after 12 months of not even been close to a first team player level.

 

Id have them all gone, players like Fabregas and Hazard, *Oscar, Perdo aswell* are this shift towards a newer Chelsea, but the powerful Chelsea we had before, with many players who had far more determination and grit was much better.

Well he has 4 assists in 1900 mins this season but close enough I suppose

Maybe we've been dubbed into thinking the hazards, pedros, costas and fabregas' are world beaters when they are not.

Hazard is world class,but has been out of form.Costa and Fabregas are very good players but have also suffered from incosistency.Pedro,well the jury is out on that one,yet to impress tbh.

Any news about him?

Him along with cesc seemed to be getting back to their level.. after they're pretty much written off by some (including me), it's quite bizarre.. This season 'transformation' is unbelievable.. what the hell happened behind the scene?

Love him, hope he has a speedy recovery.

Seemingly taken to hospital today after the game.  Looked like blood coming through his sock at one point before he left the game.

 

He came off for Loic Remy and Hiddink said he didn’t think it was too bad but admitted he was already being looked at by medics.

 

Hiddink said: “He’s in hospital now. They will have a check with a scan."

 

“He was in a lot of pain. We hope he is coming out with no problems.”

If Costa is out for any length of time, then we're in a bit of trouble.

Falcao is out long term, which leaves us with Remy and Bamford, can Kenedy play as a striker? I'd imagine he would do a better job as a 9 than Hazard.

 

Remy was a considreable downgrade when he came on today, but I have faith in him to play well if he gets a good run of games.

If Remy had as many minutes as Costa this season.................

Would be typical if he is now injured just as he's getting back to his best form...looked a different player from the moment Jose left...funny that

1st half you wouldn't have known he was on the pitch. 2nd half Fabregas came deep and basically hit long balls for Costa to chase. It wasn't pretty, not the type of football Roman is looking for apparently, but it caused Everton problems and Costa made it work with his running and aggression. Are early balls over the top a long term solution?

I don't think so. But it paid off today.

Is this an ironic comment? "Fighting spirit" would have been nice when we needed it most, when we were struggling under Jose. He fights for the club when he can be bothered and that annoys me more than anything
