September 25, 20178 yr Interesting article on Conte, admits he misses home and also likes the fans here. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/chelsea’s-antonio-conte-i-miss-italy-and-i’ll-be-home-before-long/ar-AAsrjmq?li=AAmiR2Z&ocid=spartandhp

September 25, 20178 yr He has said previously that he wants to lead us into the new stadium, whenever that will be. He still has a long career ahead so hopefully we will see a few more years from him yet. Just hope Roman keeps his trigger finger occupied with something else and gives us the consistency we need from a coach.
September 25, 20178 yr i find it hard to pinpoint a replacement. the only guy who stands out for me is carlo. he has the experience at the elite level. i always wanted pep, but unforunately roman didn't help that possibility with the trigger finger.
September 25, 20178 yr Simeone is the next guy in my view. Let's hope that Conte stays as long as he can. Have his wife and daughter moved yet?

God no, Carlo would be a massive backward step if he replaces Conte. If Antonio does go in the next couple of years the natural replacement would be Alegri. Edited September 25, 20178 yr by Argo

Ancelotti's hands off management isn't ideal for young players. Its better when you have leaders like Terry, Drogba, Lampard etc who can manage themselves. Conte's somewhat disciplined approach is ideal
September 26, 20178 yr It's too bad that Antonio want already leave us.. I hope not this year, nor next year, if he can stay at Chelsea for 3 or 4 season, it's perfect for have one stability and one structure for the future. We wait John Terry for our future head coach

September 27, 20178 yr Bit of overreaction by Chelsea fans over Conte's comments. Saying he sees himself going back to Italy in the future doesn't mean he wants to go next year or in 2019. Keep in mind he's only 47. That's VERY young for a manager. There's nothing saying he can't spend 5 years at Chelsea before moving back to Italy. I don't think anyone ever really thought he'd be a long term Chelsea manager. His strong personality along with our sometimes overly intrusive board and trigger happy owner make that highly unlikely. If we're lucky, we get 5 maybe 7 years from him. That would be impressive in my book, considering the lifespan of managers these days, especially Chelsea managers. When he does leave, we should go after Maurizzio Sarri. Has anyone watched Napoli play over the past 2 seasons and coming into this season? By far the most entertaining side in Europe. Sarri could work absolute wonders with players like Hazard and Morata. That said, Conte's still our manager and I hope he manages us into the new stadium (as he has alluded to) before he leaves. With any luck, he'll win us another CL.
September 27, 20178 yr "f**k off"... or the italian version of it. Hope thats the only thing conte says to him.
September 27, 20178 yr my theory on Conte is that he had offers and was tempted in the summer to make a swift return to Italy with Milan. The renewed contract on improved terms without any extension was a sweetener to keep him for this season and he will leave in the summer.

September 27, 20178 yr Credit where it's due, Antonio set out with a plan to win and carried it out to perfection. Lesser managers would have settled for a draw in such circumstances (Atleti away). Puts to bed any notion of him not being up to scruff in the CL. (twitter) Conte, asked if we are contenders to win the Champions League, says we must go game by game and show same humility as last season. #ATLCHE Edited September 27, 20178 yr by Charles Ryder
September 27, 20178 yr Funny reading this now and the match thread. At half time folk were going nuts because he played Cesc.
September 27, 20178 yr I love Conte like a family member, and I have absolutely no shame in saying it

We as Chelsea fans should know this all too well. I hope there never comes a point where I want rid of him. I never wanted Jose sacked, was actually very upset when we did sack him, it felt like we were destined for failure. But Conte is so much more a likable bloke, really respect him.
