Hey guys I'm new here!

I think Morata is a great signing and hopefully he can adjust to the playing style/league pretty quickly, and hopefully he enjoys playing week in week out which is something he has rarely gotten to experience before.

I also expect Michy to get more playing time to last season as well as I thought he did well with what limited chances he got last season. Optimistically I'd be thinking 25 goals in the league between Morata and Michy.

Love the respect to a legend in your name. Welcome.

I don't know but after watching a video of Morata at the LAX yesterday, he seems like a really really humble guy. What a change from Costa. Don't get me wrong I loved Costa every time he scored and did some of his shenanigans but he pissed me off with the twitter crap and how he behaved (China incident). It sucks that we lost Costa but hope Morata can fill that gap with time. I'm thrilled that we got Morata after the Lakaku ordeal, I was getting my brain ready for a season of Bentekes and Llorentes...

In the Real Madrid quote they thanked him for his "dedication, professionalism and exemplary conduct"

I am no Spanish football expert but isn't that high praise from the club ?

Eh, I still think we have let far too many leave with no replacements brought in, which is on the director of football. Signing a striker is good but our squad is still too thin.

I guess this depends on a couple of things

1) will matic been sold, it looks inevitable right now I'd say but if he stays I'm not worried about the midfield

2) what's the situation with some out our returning loan players.

it's make or break for Christiansen for example, he could not have done more and if he was actually a BMG we probably would have been linked with him for 30 mill plus

Baker also not far behind, can we intergate him in to the squad in a way that does not hinder his development. He's not a box to box so wouldn't be able to play in a 2 with Kante or Baka for me, so not sure how he fits in.

At wingback I think we our covered, Kennedy should be given more time this season .

Absolutely made up with this one. I didn't have much of a preference between morata and Lukaku, both had question marks, and either would've been an exciting addition.

Morata is surely the better fit though.

My main gripe with the board was that it was looking like we were leaving it late to replace costa, as i think having your main striker involved in preseason, is pretty important. He seems to be signing just in time to get a decent understanding with his team mates, so hats off to the board for pulling it off.

We as fans look at the likes of aguero and Suarez and wish we had picked them up when they were about to turn world class. I think morata is on the cusp of the top echelon, and oppositions will be looking at us with envy in the next few years.

Happy Happy days. Welcome Morata !!

I like the fact that when he scores goals, it will be great to shout MORATAAAAA !  You can really drag out the MORATAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ! for the really big goals.  I like it when our strikers names end with an 'A'.

Just like Costaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! Or

Hazaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!!!!!!!!

Granted the Frist one won't be here anymore

He remain professional throughout just like Cesc last season, seems he has a very good character unlike his other Spanish teammate.

Feel a bit unsure over this signing, don't get me wrong I think he'll be a good player for us but is he enough to replace what Costa did for us? I'm not sure but the I've had the same doubts about Lukaku, Belotti and Aubeymang (however you spell his name). Just gonna do what I would have done for any of those, wait and see.

I'm not quite sure why but this made me laugh!  It's the sort of reason I'd come out with rather than discussing his technical ability, intelligent play, teamwork, etc etc.

Every Hispanic culture is different. I'm not from Spain so I have no idea hahaha. I can just say that Morata took it like a man; coming off the bench and not whining. Michy is another one that comes to mind. Benched most of the time yet didn't complain or anything. During a marca interview before Morata took the flight they asked him if he had enough about Real Madrid and he said yes. They also asked him if the reason he was leaving was because of play time and he also said yes and that he was in contact with Conte. Lastly they asked him if he would return to real madrid in 2 years time and he kind of said I don't believe so but knowing football you never know.... One thing that impressed me was that one of the reporters asked him "why so serious? smile, you have signed for a club! and he replied you never know until the end. I will smile when i have signed and put on the Chelsea jersey. Also making reference to the United ordeal which they guy tinted his hair red and everything lol....

We always seem to be slightly surprised when we purchase players from La Liga and they turn out to be very good players, despite our initial concerns. It's no wonder the club keep going back to Spain when we have money to spend.

If we were all honest about it, most would admit that we hardly ever know who these new players are, let alone watched them on a regular basis, so i just go on the name and try and imagine martin tyler screaming it out.
