August 27, 20169 yr Just get this one done Chelsea. And then never deal with Napoli again; they're a pain in the arse. Edited August 27, 20169 yr by Rusty-Man
August 28, 20169 yr And asked by reporters to provide an update on Maksimovic's proposed move away from Turin, Mihajlovic appeared frustrated. "I haven't heard from him," he said. "As far as I am concerned, Maksimovic is dead to me." anyway, he's set for napoli, moment of truth for koulibaly
August 28, 20169 yr i think a few people here might end up disappointed because from the things mentioned on twitter it's sounding like maksimovic was a napoli target way before now, albiol returning to valencia and they need cover for january (when koulibaly goes to afcon). just let it go guys, the dream is over and we are not acquiring him this window. next season maybe we'll go back in for him, but by then we'll probably not need him.
August 30, 20169 yr ESPN are reporting that K2 has given up any hope of moving to Chelsea before Wednesday...the Telegraph are also reporting that Chelsea is considering a season long loan to try to get a new CB in...it pains me to see us in such a desperate position...this is the second transfer window in the row that we've failed to bag a decent CB...sorry but RA it's time to focus that ascorbic eye over our acquisition team...
August 31, 20169 yr well another center back saga bites the dust i hope if in the future de laurentis is interested in one of our player, tell him to shove cactus up his arse and pay 3x times the player's value the thick c**t
August 31, 20169 yr Add the 30mil+ we are willing to pay for D.Luiz ontop of whatever we were willing to pay for Koulibaly, if not it will be a waste.
September 1, 20169 yr Either one of the Manchester clubs will buy him next summer. We can't afford him or unwilling to pay the 50 million pound price which is as expected. This failed pursuit has highlighted the risk of putting all your eggs in one basket which thankfully the Board did not do so (or almost did!) seeing that Luiz was available and bought as a Plan B or C. Now where is Argo @ Tomo who has been posting about how the club was after Bonucci and Koulibally and wouldn't consider anyone else? HAHA!!
September 1, 20169 yr What happened to the good old days when a player could sulk their way into leaving a club?
September 2, 20169 yr We apparently had a final £42 million bid rejected on the final day of the transfer window.
September 2, 20169 yr With singing Luiz, Christensen hopefully coming back next season and Zouma getting back to his best (fingers crossed) we probably wont revisit this transfer. He will no doubt move to PSG or the likes in January or next summer.

September 14, 20169 yr had a beast of a performance last night any chance we're still in for him next summer? hasn't pen a new contract strangely Edited September 14, 20169 yr by havelschayes

September 15, 20169 yr Koulibaly would be stupid to sign a new contract with Napoli unless it has a reasonable buy out clause. He could easily earn 3x the amount in the prem. May as well just wait for the contract to run down.
September 19, 20169 yr Koulibaly signs five-year Napoli contract Napoli have tied down Kalidou Koulibaly, linked with a move to Chelsea in the previous transfer window, to a deal running until 2021. Kalidou Koulibaly has renewed his contract with Napoli, agreeing a deal to keep him at the club for a further five years. Koulibaly was heavily linked with a move away from the Stadio San Paolo in the previous transfer window, with Chelsea and Everton credited with an interest. The centre-back said in June talks over a new deal had stalled and he would be open to a switch to England, prompting an angry response from Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis. However, Koulibaly was retained by the club and has finally put pen to paper on a new contract running until 2021. "I am happy to announce that Kalidou Koulibaly has renewed his contract with Napoli until 2021," De Laurentiis posted on Twitter. The Senegal international has played every minute for Napoli in 2016-17. Read more at http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/koulibaly-signs-five-year-napoli-contract#jdff63XM2QAb7VUu.99

October 6, 20169 yr A pay rise with a release clause, that's how footballers renew contract these days. I have the feeling we will make the panic buy if we are outside the 6 by January.

So De Laurentis has confirmed we made a £58m bid for Koulibaly, which would have smashed the world record for a centre half and if I'm not mistaken would have been the third highest (incoming) transfer in English football history after Pogba and Di Maria. Also incase you haven't noticed we hit over £100m net this summer a feat only the Manchester clubs replicated. Hardly fits into you're narrative that the board are penny pinchers, does it?
October 12, 20169 yr Napoli is taking the piss, we increased the offer as they wanted it. They just keep on holding for more money. They gave him a new contract to increase his current value which for me is insane. I don't regard him as World Class or a potential that could be that, we should just stop bidding for him and look elsewhere.
October 12, 20169 yr and the next year he'll sign mu or city for the same money and then he'll tell the press that he's happy he didn't make a mistake. (like stones said it when signed for city) Edited October 12, 20169 yr by mojo
