July 29, 20196 yr It's only preseason give this decent man a chance, after all the team will have tons of games he can play a bit in the League cup and Fa. (I say this because the transfer window is pretty much over, hopefully he can find a new club in January.)

(I say this because the transfer window is pretty much over, hopefully he can find a new club in January.) If he's not good enough, then he's not good enough. He had his chance in his first season with us and he was terrible. Yes, it's only pre-season, but he can't even pass a ball cleanly, he's just a very poor footballer who is playing at a level way higher than he should be. One of the non-homegrown players is going to have to be left out, and Bakayoko looks like the obvious one to leave out at this point. We should just sell him to whoever will take him at this point.
July 29, 20196 yr Maybe we can offload him to Everton as a package deal with Zouma ? "Buy a central defender, and get a defensive midfielder for free" kind of deal perhaps ...

Better to leave a bit of mystery, don't play him and hope some other mugs will snap him up. I just hope whoever scouted him in the first place has now got a job scouting for Spuds, when we were first linked with him a number of members on here had serious doubts about his ability. He simply isn't good enough.

Everything looked so good after that game. Destroyed a Simeone team in his own backyard, Bakayoko looked really good, Morata looked sensational, we recovered from an early bump and looked back to 16 /17 form with a chance to go top if we beat City a few days later. But that City game went wrong and we proceded to endure a nightmare few weeks after that which we never truly recovered from, turns out the Leti game was the last big peak of the Conte era.

That was an excellent performance and Morata looked like a world-beater that night.

July 30, 20196 yr I had a tiny bit of hope that he might have improved a little and regained some confidence, having reportedly played well for Milan, but seeing him again, he's the same poor player who made you question how he managed to become a pro and how anyone could want him at their club.
August 5, 20196 yr https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea/chelsea-in-talks-with-galatasaray-to-offload-tiemoue-bakayoko-on-loan-after-failing-to-impress-frank-a4205456.html Wouldn't go back to Italy because of the racism so we open talks with Galatasaray for him? No chance he'll agree to move to Turkey imo.
August 5, 20196 yr That 2017 transfer window really was the worst of the Roman era wasn't it? I think it now trumps the 2007 (?) window of Ben Haim, Pizarro, Sidwell.

August 6, 20196 yr Loan move to Galatasaray looking increasingly likely. The fact that the best offer he has is going to Turkey speaks volumes about where he is as a player now. Don't think we're ever going to be likely to recoup the £40m we spent on him. Transfer mistakes happen, I accept that but to have dropped another £35m on Drinkwater in the same window was just criminally inept from us.
August 6, 20196 yr Bakayoko should have never left Monaco. Easy to say now....a loan move.. He is unsellable.

We bought a complete dud ... it happens ... take the loss and move on ... and hopefully learn the lesson so that it doesn't happen again ...
