Still out of the Lyon squad Depay is the player that would most help Chelsea. As for bakyoko it’s hard to say. He wouldn’t suit sarri’s idea of a midfielder that’s for sure. Have you followed the football world in the past two weeks or so ?

The second time was the start of Conte's reign here, it was such a success Conte overhauled the entire system after six games. What gives anyone the idea that a player who's main attribute is his engine is best in a restrictive sitting DM role (and that's before we factor in the fact any attempt to play him there has backfired badly), I will never know. Kante started life as a winger

June 28, 20197 yr Bakayoko was one of Milan's best players last year, but it didn't matter his relationship with the manager... They couldn't keep him anyway.

July 8, 20197 yr We get money and make Utd even sh*tter than they already are. Double whammy of a transfer!

July 9, 20197 yr If anything, United being interested in him should validate that he is not good enough. Their signings have been worse than ours.
July 9, 20197 yr Would much rather him go to PSG than Utd tbh. Can't have another player that was terrible for us, flourishing at yet another premier league club.. (KDB, Salah, and some would say even Lukaku) But in all honesty, I think based on last season with Milan, he's earned himself another season with us, at least in preseason to show what he can do. Words I thought id never say, given how he performed for us when we still had him. But if PSG come in offering over 40/50m for him, then id bite their hand off. Its just if he goes for that price at Utd, whilst he still has potential.. Then it could be another KDB situation.

There's more chance of West Ham winning the league than there is Bakayoko turning into a KDB esque situation.

There are some good clips of matches he played on YouTube for those who didn't see Milan last year. One vs Napoli he played particularly well in. Challenge for me is he does best in a limited role where he is primarily there to shield the defence and doesn't see a lot of the ball. His first touch is woeful and he has so little spacial awareness. Always liable to be caught on the ball or make a bad pass under pressure. I think he might get another chance mainly because of his height. With Ruben out we will need a bit extra at corners etc. But I wouldn't be worried if we sold him.
July 9, 20197 yr He didn't have a "good year" at Milan. He was average. At the start they had all the same complaints as us - can't control the ball, can't pass the ball, can't do anything. He got better as the season went on, but all that means is he went from dire to average. GET RID.
July 9, 20197 yr Blimey the Bakayoko thread is such a long thread for a very average player. Thinks that's down to how long it took for us to actually sign him and boy what an anti-climax that turned out to be. I remember not long after signing for us he rolled his new car into a ditch near the training ground. Turns out his driving is pretty much on a par with his footballing ability.
July 9, 20197 yr He just looks like he fits in a slower league where he doesn't need to think and react that fast with the ball. The man has the physique and can be good in defense but really needs to adapt...

July 9, 20197 yr Given the fickle nature of some of our "alleged" supporters, I fear he will get very little in the way of a second chance. A certain group of supporters will be all over him after one mis-placed pass. If he gets a second chance, he needs to be encouraged. We've seem how he does not react well when things go poorly and he hears the negativity. There's no reason to put him through that.

You can't be praising him for bad performances either. If you put in some good, consistent performances and then have a bad game then yeah, I agree, don't come down on a player like a ton of bricks but if you're consistently bad you should get called out for it. I'm the type of person that gives people second, third and even fourth chances, and I'm willing to that to any player that comes back to Chelsea, but you also gotta put the effort in.
