May 29, 20188 yr Looks like I might have a reason to watch a few Derby matches. Shame we're losing Jody though. Nothing's confirmed yet but he's currently the favourite for the job and in talks according to Sky. https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jody-morris-frank-lampard-derby-1618581#ICID=sharebar_twitter

May 30, 20188 yr Good luck to both of them if true. A great place to start, hopefully they perform well and one day come back to the bridge and there is also the bonis that I can imagine it will be a great place for Chelsea to send a few loanees.
May 30, 20188 yr Good luck Frank, where ever you will go. Hope your start will be as good as it can be. After bringing them up to the EPL, you know that your place is here at the Bridge.
May 31, 20188 yr Appointed manager of Derby County, Jodie Morris his no2. Good luck Frank. I think this may work out to be a new destination for some of our youth products. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5790215/Derby-announce-Frank-Lampard-new-manager.html

Quite why someone with Super Frankie's dough would wish to subject himself to the stress and rigours of management is beyond me, then again maybe he needs a challenge.
May 31, 20188 yr Derby fans are delighted, some good reactions on their forum . I hope management works out for him better than it did for Zola...and to a lesser extent, Di Matteo, barring our Champo League triumph.
May 31, 20188 yr This is huge. Best of luck to Super Frank. The guy is one of the most intelligent men in football, I hope he crushes it.
May 31, 20188 yr FL I'm guessing has got a good relationship with Roman, and might be able to procure some of our loanies. De Matteo wasnt successful with this when he went to Villa, possibly because the fact RA having to pay him off made him less amenable.
May 31, 20188 yr Best of luck to Frank, it will be interesting to see whether he enjoys it, there's plenty of world class players that have struggled in management. Guardiola and Zidane have both gone on to nearly eclipse their playing careers, I'm not sure Frank will do the same, having chosen to cut his teeth in the championship, rather than trying to work his up at a big club. I would love to see him succeed in the dug out here one day.
May 31, 20188 yr Author Will be rooting for Frank to do well. Will be interesting to see how he gets on... Not the easiest of first jobs, there's a demand from Derby to play a certain way and they'll be wanting to push for promotion next season too.
May 31, 20188 yr Looks like Derby County are about to come my second favourite team. Be rooting for them next season, especially against Dirty Leeds and QP Ha. Would have been good to keep hold of Jody and get him involved in first team squad in some capacity, but just maybe in a couple of seasons time they will have worked wonders at Derby and we can welcome them back as the dream team to take us forward.
May 31, 20188 yr Best of luck to him...maybe he'll bring in 'Uncle Arry' as Director of Football. Didn't see any announcement about Jody Morris though? Is that official also?
May 31, 20188 yr Good luck to him, getting Jody in as second in command would be a fantastic move also. Could we see a route for our youth players on loan maybe?
May 31, 20188 yr I think if Jody goes there we'll definitely see three of our young stars (or whatever the limit is to one team) at Derby. Jody will know the qualities of the players, and know who they can use or not use. It would be a very good place to develop the players. That said, I wish Frank the best regardless of what happens. I now have a Championship I'm eager to see succeed.

He has to be the first one on our list for that job when the management situation is cleared up.
May 31, 20188 yr Nice one Frank and best of luck. I was beginning to fear he'd be another getting too comfy in a studio but it's great to see the likes of Frank and Gerrard take steps into management. 7 hours ago, Ewell CFC said: Best Wishes Frank and Jody. It's as stressful as you want to make it depending on your make-up and character. (and financial situation I guess) Frank doesn't seem like a guy that will stress about it to me. Strikes me as the type that will do it as long as he enjoys it and feels he has something to offer. The likes of Zidane, Ancelotti, Pochettino don't seem to find it stressful and I think we will see more managers/coaches adopting this approach from now on with modern day players earning so much that it's really only going to be those that have a want to do it that end up doing it.
May 31, 20188 yr Would be interesting to see how he is going to lead the team. I trust him, hopefully, he will promote them and do a good job, can't wait to see him taking charge of Chelsea. Good luck Super Frankie!
May 31, 20188 yr Derby is now our Vitesse mk.II, who should we farm out to them? Lamps now one step closer to the Chelsea throne.
