Buying English talent with no regard of if they are good enough.. problem with drinks is that I don' think even he knows if he is a holder or an attacking midfielder The only difference being this one cost us £35m.

He was a typical Mourinho type player and was better than the likes of Smertin and Jarosik. Parker would have have been a decent squad player if we had kept hold of him.
January 19, 20188 yr He had Makalele in front of him though, and we all know how Jose loves his "untouchables".

January 19, 20188 yr Didn't Parker go on to Spurs where he became a mini-legend in the period where they could not even buy a win against us?

No, he got his chances in cup games because that's the level he was at for us. Why should he play games ahead of a much better player?
January 19, 20188 yr Didn't Parker pick up a bad injury though in that season? decent player, but I don't think it was the right move for him coming here.
January 20, 20188 yr I recall Parker being a big crowd favourite here but he got injured and never really got a chance. The greatest shame is that plonker AVB bought Romeu instead of bringing him back when he was Premier League Player of the Year and available for peanuts.

Scott Parker was so overated it was laughable, pundits loved his all action style getting stuck in etc but him getting stuck in was very often him trying to redeem himself after a sh*t touch or crap pass, each generation has these types of players that get lucky but really their ability is lower leagues standard, English football has had Carlton Palmer, Geoff Thomas, Scott Parker and so on, and now that clown Jordan Henderson. Players like Hoddle, le tiss, and Joe Cole were overlooked to different extents, because of your Scott Parker's of this world. Edited January 20, 20188 yr by chi blue Spelling

That award was ridiculous though, he won it "cos he runs around a lot"

January 28, 20188 yr Stunk up the middle today. Looked slow and lethargic throughout the game. No wonder Conte has persevered with Bakayoko. Disappointing display.
January 28, 20188 yr Disappointed with DD so far but it's early days. BTW didn't Parker want more 1st team football or did Mourinho make that up? Couldn't have, could he?!
January 28, 20188 yr Not DD's biggest fan must be said, if anything just for the fee we paid. If we'd just waited until this summer we could have potentially signed Milan Badelj on a free transfer. Edited January 28, 20188 yr by the special one
January 29, 20188 yr Drinkwater wont go past a player, he wont sprint to an empty space and he wont give a pinpoint pass like Cesc can. His positional awereness is good, he has a good shot but that is about it.The kind of football we try to play has no space for his balancing style IMO. Bakayoko has bags of potential but still raw in many aspects. Still I think Baka will take the regular spot in time.
January 29, 20188 yr He’s never been part of a team that dominates so will take him time to adjust, if he can. He’s a solid B player and has been remarked elsewhere feels like Chalobah could’ve been at his level with regular playing time. I’m quite curious as to who really pushes for his signing. Seen it mentioned was Conte in places but it was clear he was a specific target.
January 29, 20188 yr He was easily forgettable in yesterdays match. I forgot he was on the pitch most of the time.
January 29, 20188 yr Yeah, he really isn’t anything special. A bang average midfielder, I can’t believe we paid 35m for him. Embarassing

And wrap your head around this: Danny Drinkwater is top 6 for most expensive player we have ever purchased.

Just perhaps he was a good friend of Kante's and keeping the latter here was part of the package, you never know. Also consider we have recently taken one of the younger Hazards under the Chelsea umbrella when we hardly give our own promising youngsters a chance.
January 29, 20188 yr For a club that has featured Makelele, Essien, Lampard and Kante in its midfield during the last decade, Drinkwater is a descent to League two. No pace, no forward play, no passing ability. Thanks Marina, you got us a bargain there for 35m. Add the tosser Giroud to the mix and we might as well be booking tickets to Boston, Barnsley and Preston now
January 29, 20188 yr His first few games were very good, now he's been pretty average. I never watched him much at Leicester but I wouldn't be surprised if he was just in a purple patch. Like I always hope Bakayoko will be able to replicate his Man Utd game consistently in the future, I hope Danny will replicate his best form too.
