Willian great tonight, Zappacosta good debut, Cesc defended well as going forward. minutes for players who weren't playing Saturday. Six goals, no apparent injuries, so a good night.

Zappacosta admits it was a cross!!

Nice to see Tibo credited with an assist for Zappacosta's goal  

 

Was great to see azpi celebrate with morata, they seem to be real pals

They were poor so it's difficult to read too much into it but you can only beat what's in front of you and we couldn't have asked for more in that sense.

 

Christensen looks a player, reads the game, elegant, fast, composed, early days but the signs are good.

 

Zappacosta looks very comfortable running with the ball and attacking. His goal was the result of a run along the flank where he beat two players, and that's what we lack on the other side with Alonso. Alonso has many qualities and I'm not knocking him but he lacks pace and power and we're not going to see that sort of drive on his flank, which is probably why Conte wanted to sign Sandro, who is probably on another level to Zappacosta and may have given us another dimension, especially going forward.

 

Fabregas was majestic but they gave him too much time on the ball, which is a fatal mistake.

 

Willian was easily our best player. Absolutely superb.

 

Batshuayi? Glad he got his goal as it will hopefully help his confidence. He will always score goals but is it enough? His all-round game is pretty shocking and he appears to be lacking a brain. His movement is shocking. How many times did Fabregas or Willian wait for him to make a run, to try and run in behind their defence, so they could play him in? He needs to anticipate the pass otherwise it's never going to come. He seems to think you have to wait for the pass before you make the run. I think Conte has his work cut out here but at least he kept going and never let his head drop. 

 

Anyway good night and a good confidence booster before the Arsenal game. We're in good shape considering all the doom and gloom after Burnley. Well done Chelsea.

Absolutely fantastic win tonight, we couldn't have asked for anything better. Great prep for Arsenal

Well that was absolutely immense!! I think that might be the best night of my life! My only slight disappointment was not getting to see Morata live as that would have been the icing on the cake!

A good comprehensive win and a good performance. Players rested tonight with Sunday in mind.

I must admit that although he scored twice, Bats didn't show me anything tonight that makes me think he's got what it takes to make it here, his touch is absolutely rotten a lot of the time.

 

Christensen is even more impressive in person, he's actually really quick which I don't think he gets credit for, very composed on the ball even under pressure.

 

Kante is a machine (as if we didn't already know that) but the guy is literally everywhere and just going absolutely non stop for every second he's on the pitch.

 

Willian was really good tonight, could do with releasing the ball a bit quicker but a very good performance from him. 

 

Zappacosta has some engine on him as well, seems like he has a decent bit of pace about him as well.

f**k, I'm in toonland (Newcastle) for the week and the barstewards of the pub changed the channel to the manure game as soon as Pedro scored the first goal (the barstewards). I tried to get the Chelsea game back on tv but I guess that in this part of hell the northern teams have preference as they were showing also the Celtic match. Anyway, glad we got 6 pass them, and it is amazing that Zappacosta, Azpilicueta (a f**king header!!!) and Bakayoko scored! But I am really amazed with Zappacosta's goal, what a beauty!

Next LeArse, I'll be at SB as usual and hope to enjoy a proper Chels game. We have the better team and can beat them at home. KTBFFH!

This is pretty awesome. We've actually improved our team in 4 positions from last season.
