August 19, 20187 yr I hope that EL will be his competition. He is a fantastic player and would deserve more space, but the forward compartiment is very full.
August 20, 20187 yr He just played 90 minutes for the development team. So i guess he is not in the plans for sunday. I thought he was injured, and anyone knows about his new contract? If he have signed it, or if there is problems with contract.
August 21, 20187 yr To put things in perspective Callum Hudson-Odoi the 17 year old is blocked for a first team spot because of Hazard and Willian. In Madrid 25 year old Kroatian international Kovacic is blocked by Luka Modric. I think we should have some patience with him.. However I hope he gets his chances in Cup games and odd minutes in the prem. That is maximum for him this term I think at this point.
August 21, 20187 yr Keep Hazard until his contract runs out then let CHO come in as his successor when he is 19. If we need a superstar signing, upgrade the RW position instead.
November 30, 20187 yr Don't think you can expect him playing in the league anytime soon judging by Sarri's comments.

November 30, 20187 yr GOod performance from him, he settled down after he got the goal he was clearly desperate for. Before that, he was trying a bit too hard to shoot and take people on all the time. The talent is defintely there, he just needs more chances to show it and in time he'll learn how best to use it.

The league is totally different compared to a 10 man PAOK. As much as I want him to succeed here, it's probably best he goes on loan for a season. There's more experienced players, who are more tactically adept who play in his favoured position.
November 30, 20187 yr Hopefully finds himself ahead of Moses, who I’m hoping we release in January. I think last night showed he’s not out of place in the first team. A little faith from Chelsea/Sarri and he’d have a real chance at breaking through.

I tend to agree with your sentiment, but we mustn't get too carried away. That wasn't the first team, so whether he is out of place or not is difficult to say. He settled down after a while when he stopped trying too hard, but you have to take into account the standard of opposition and the sending off. He also got a tad over-confident as the match went on and some of that didn't work so well. He needs to be around the squad and getting some minutes, but some of these over-the-top comments about how he HAS to replace Willian and Pedro, or is the obvious and immediate replacement for Hazard are just silly. The lad has a long way to go, and needs patience above all else. Edited November 30, 20187 yr by yorkleyblue

Some players seem to get chance after chance and are allowed poor games where they are totally ineffectual. On that basis alone, a talent like CHO should be given some minutes and if he doesn't perform over a few games then at least he (and everyone) can't complain that he wasn't given a chance.
November 30, 20187 yr First start for him, a goal and assist. Tried to find the net few times, nothing bad with that. Just imagine how good he can be when we will start playing him more.

If anything, it's a good thing that he's willing to show he's capable. Brilliant talent, must keep him.

He won't be allowed to leave on loan unless he signs a new contract (he has refused so far). We either need to give him minutes or face a Solanke situation in the last year of his contract. His deal runs until the end of next season so the player holds the cards here.
November 30, 20187 yr Gifted youngster - he can make the difference, when we don´t have a ball possession rate of 80% or more. Edited November 30, 20187 yr by nominator

By the way he has acted when scoring for Chelsea and posting on social media saying it's a dream etc, I don't personally think he wants to leave. He is probably pressured from family, but Chelsea do a lot for these young players as a club. I don't think many, if any, young player has left Chelsea and spoken bad about the club. They usually have always spoke on how well they were treated.

If it was my choice, he would never go out on loan. I would rather have him here. From what I have seen of him, he looks ready right now. Obviously he isn't ready to play every week in the first 11, but I would have him available for every game. He could come off the bench for Hazard or Pedro and even start a few games here and there. Not every youngster needs to be loaned out, every so often you get special players that come through and are ready straight away, I think Hudson-Odoi is one of those players.
November 30, 20187 yr I also think Sarri's comments about him not being ready for the Premier League are taken out of context. From what I have read, the exact words were: “I don’t know if Hudson-Odoi is able for the Premier League at 18, especially in a big team. If he’s good enough to play in a big team in the Premier League at 18 then he could be the best player in Europe in two years"

You have to be a once in a generation freak of nature to be that good at 18, 99% of players need experience to grow and improve.
November 30, 20187 yr I kind of feel it's a two way street with young players this talented...... if the club can't trust him to give him some regular minutes/opportunities in the first team, why should he trust that the club is the best place to advance his career? A big difference between failing to take your opportunities and just plain not getting any. If I was in his position and CFC said "sign a deal and take a loan" I'd probably just say "No thanks, but you might want to pop me in the shop window ASAP though".
November 30, 20187 yr Sat behind the dugout last night, listening to Instructions being given and it was mainly when we didn’t have the ball he was being coached on where he should be. This is the area that Sarri has stated he needs to improve

December 1, 20187 yr I think his future will be more certain next summer. If Hazard leaves he may take his place, and if Hazard stays we may sell Willian or Pedro to make room for him. Edited December 1, 20187 yr by the special one

What can't be taught is the raw ability he has, it's phenomenal
