We lost a good one here again..... He's not gone yet mate.
January 11, 20197 yr Losing him would really, really hurt. Biggest academy-talent we have had in decades and should become a world-class player in a few years. He's got 18 months left and I would reject any offer, risk the 35-40 million while we do everything we can to keep him for a year and a half. That is a long time in football and lots and lots can change.

There are only two options for a club important like Chelsea. 1) He stays sad, poor and in the stands for one year and half. 2) He stays happy with a new rich contract , becomes an idol of Stamford Bridge and wins the Golden Ball within 3 years. Agreed! We’ve invested a lot of time and effort in his development. If he doesnt think he should pay that back, let him sit in the stands for a year.

I'm more interested in his attitude if he gets a legit run in the team. He's sitting on the bench wasting a year right now, of course he wants to leave and go play.

If a player of 18 can not wait three or four months to improve tactichally in a Club of this level is finished the football !

Actions are more important than words. I want him to get a chance for two reasons. 1. It'll make us better 2. It'll give us a better chance of resigning him #1 is enough for me.
January 11, 20197 yr I have a solution. Sign Dennis Odoi from Fulham, then accept the offer from Bayern and send them Alan Hudson and Dennis Odoi in a joint deal.
January 11, 20197 yr I really hope the club does not consider this. Wtf could we buy with 35m, nothing decent, this guy has potential to be world class, simple solution here, play him until the end of the season and take it from there, he will still be hot property come July, but maybe by then we could have convinced him to stay. Sarri, just put some faith in this kid, he is already better than Willian and Pedro.
January 11, 20197 yr Since Bayern like to talk about this publicly maybe we should in more detail do so to. "So Bayern are trying to turn his head. Ok reporting them to fifa will do flip all here so here it is. They can either stump up 100mill pounds with no buy back, or 35mill with a buy back clause that increases by 5mill every year. I.e. 40mill end of season 1 there, 45mill end of season 2 there etc" "Deal or no deal, cough up or p*ss off".
January 11, 20197 yr CHO and his family need their heads checked if they actually want to go to Bayern. Great club they are with a proud history of many titles. But just like Juve they play in a tinpot league just like the French ligue 1. If he wanted to go to United, Barca or Spurs fair enough, it would be maddening but they have a proven record with young players and we dont and play in the only top 2 leagues in the world. Great at Bayern you can play CL each year, that is your only hope of glory. Winning the German title is like winning the Championship. Actually it means less cause winning that means you play in a top league next year at least. Their cup has no prestige compared to the FA cup. Get your head on straight Callum.
January 11, 20197 yr I still wholeheartedly agree that we should keep him for 6 months and try and convince him to stay. The one thing I am starting to change my stance on is where the fault lies. Yes, the club have been a mess of integrating youth in the past but if the rumours are true that we are doing everything to keep him at the club i.e. offering him big money, a huge increase in status / playing time. If he’s still not interested then it’s not about that, either he wants to play for Bayern or doesn’t want to play for us irrelevant of what we offer him or both. If we have offered these things and he still demands to leave would make me question him being a Chelsea fan as has been rumoured. If I was offered good money & playing time at Chels, I wouldn’t move to any other club in the world.

Who knows what to believe? IMO, if he had been given some game time, that his talent deserves, (forget about his age it's irrelevant), it probably wouldn't have got to this point.
January 11, 20197 yr Chelsea’s negotiations with Bayern Munich over the potential sale of Callum Hudson-Odoi are being complicated by Chelsea’s demand for a buy-back clause, to which Bayern are reluctant to agree (Times) Sounds as if we are considering it as long as there is a buy back clause.

If he does want to leave, he is doing a damn good job of not showing it, considering his comments after Nottingham Forest about needing to work hard to get playing time. Given the volume of stories coming out about Bayern's interest... all being fed by his camp... I'd say he's doing a pretty good job of showing how much he wants to leave.
January 11, 20197 yr Buy back clause would be a face saving exercise at best, he'd be under no obligation to come back.

I'm all for a buy back clause, but realistically if he goes to bayern and performs well enough for us to want to pay the buy back clause, what incentive would he have to leave one of the biggest 3 or 4 clubs, where he is playing regularly, and competing for the champions league every season. For a buy back clause to be effective, he needs to go a club, where by coming back to chelsea would be a step up for him.

Probably just saying the politically correct thing in case he isn’t sold though.
January 12, 20197 yr Needless to say, we must hold on to him for the next 6 months. His value won't go down in the summer, if anything there will be a bidding war once he made it as a regular first team player. Players should be picked on merit, and i think he deserves a few starts given his form lately and compare to the other 2 regulars.

Give him play time until the summer, and if he proves himself his value imo will be more than the £35m supposedly offered. Solanke's move to Liverpool should be used as an example of how things can turn out.
January 12, 20197 yr If they want one of our Best, lets use him as a bartering tool for Lewa, they'll soon back off
