If I was him (sounds pathetic I'm aware) it would be logical to wait and see if Hazard stays or leaves because if Hazard leaves the only logical option for the club is to start rebuilding and in that situation Hudson-Odoi would become the starter and the new rising star of both the club and the whole league and nation. And all that goes hand in hand with Pedro and Willian getting too old for Chelsea. So if we put things in perspective, after the summer Hudson-Odoi has a big chance to become a starter so why is there so many in the media that write that he is so eager to leave right now? What you post makes sense for most clubs, but not CFC. We'd probably buy a couple of mediocre but "proven" players to put right back between CHO and the first team positions vacted by Willian/Pedro. I mean it's not like we haven't had fairly big exoduses of first team players, or been hit by injury crises', or players massively out of form etc etc. At most other clubs those would lead youth into getting more chances, here it doesn't.
January 14, 20197 yr Maybe Bayern see in Hudson-Odoi their new star winger since both Ribery and Robben are way past their prime. But if they are really so eager to buy him his price would be then double than £35m which is the number in the media.

That's a sad truth. The Chelsea academy has been the best for some 4-5 years straight and yet with so much invested in that talent there is a very strange linkup with the senior squad. Like others have said if the talent is there the player should get his chances regardless of how young he is, all the great talents got their chances at around 17-18, Rooney at 17 got his chance in Everton and soon enough he was playing for England, similar like Beckham I think and like it or not those have been big names in world football but somehow the board of Chelsea thinks that the academy is mostly there to loan away talented players that then can have a long term problem of establishing themselves anywhere for real.

Then keep CHO and play him until the summer. He will still be worth £35m in the summer if he wants to leave. I'd prefer we just get in Lewandowski's ear about a 4 year deal worth 300k a month or so. Barcelona wouldn't leave Veratti alone and PSG went and activatef Neymar's clause. I promise you Barcelona stops trying to unsettle PSG players.
January 14, 20197 yr Actually we could be doing a PSG this month... We get sick of Bayern tapping up CHO so we go and buy Lewandowski.

One can hope, after all..... Edited January 14, 20197 yr by Barry Bridges
January 14, 20197 yr The boy is getting a lot written about him right now. It’s a lot of attention to be thrust upon anyone. Let’s not forget that before this season few had heard of him outside of Chelsea.

January 14, 20197 yr He is certainly unlikely to sign any new deal at Chelsea unless he sees some hope that he is going to start get regular playing time. No matter what we should keep him at least until the summer. Bayern (and other other clubs) will not lose interest in that time. But hopefully if he gets a significant increase in playing time over the second half of the season he can be convinced to stay.

As Sarri and Zola stand outside Cobham, correcting Willian's grammar as he daubs Romans Go Home on the training ground wall <references fall out with Conte and lack of move to Barca>, CHO's mother announces to the asembled world media, "He's not the Messiah, he's just a very talented boy, now pi$$ off"

January 16, 20197 yr Press seem absolutely desperate for him to leave us! Never seen such column inches for an 18 year old. I'm sure they'd be starting petitions and bullying/pressuring him to stay if it was Liverpool or Spurs.
