May 18, 20188 yr http://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-transfers/story/3502599/bayern-munich-make-60m-bid-for-bayer-leverkusens-leon-bailey-sources Should have wrapped this up way back in Jan, sadly out of our reach now.
May 19, 20188 yr He's plays the same position as Hazard, absolutely not needed. For f**ks sake just start slowly integrating Hudson-Odoi, Bailey is only a couple years older anyway. Save ourself 60m. I would rather we got for Mahrez as he's got more to him and experience in the PL.
May 19, 20188 yr Enigma your absolutely right that he plays LM for Bayer Leverkusen, but his ideal position is RW; thus the comparisons to Robben and the interest from Bayern Munich. That left foot of his can really do us wonders on that aging right side; but 60M seems much too steep. Honestly I think it may come down to Martial vs Bailey...but given our history and current financial situation I think we'll probably end up with Shaqiri On another note do you guys think Bailey is ready for the responsibility of regular first team football for a top club. Don't get me wrong, the guy is raw talent with amazing pace, dribbling, and a monster of a left foot...but I think he still needs a couple more years to work on his end product and to improve his "read" of the game. Teams like Bayern and Madrid can afford that because they still have other talent to work with while also providing him with ample game time to develop his game. That is something that no team in the Prem can provide given the competition and especially in our case I think we are looking for a player to start in front of Willian, rather than for someone to sub in for Willian.
May 19, 20188 yr The most reliable journo for Bayern. And from what I read, a lot of Bayern fans thought before he reported this, Leverkuzen won't sell to Bayern. Don't know what was the story there.

Maybe he could work on his end product with a season, say in the Europa League. Developing experience with his new team mates and a new league?
May 24, 20188 yr I was hoping we'd sign him before a super club comes in for him. If we can do a deal to get him this summer we'll have a superstar on our hands for the next 5-7 years. I'd also promote Odoi to the 1st team full time and get rid of Willian and Pedro to do it. Yes you need experience but in Hazard, Bailey and Odoi, you'd have 3 seriously attacking wide men with end product and goals.
May 24, 20188 yr I think he'd provide balance on the right, he's very direct whereas hazard is more of a playmaker. It's why, even though Willian is the bigger talent Pedro plays better than hazard really hope, naively that we get him

He is obviously far too good for the level he's currently playing at, but it's a massive step up to senior level. By all means give him some game time, but I think it would be a massive risk shipping several senior players out to make room for him and another youngster.

I would give Pedro's minutes to Hudson-Odoi next season. That would be perfect for somebody who's career is just getting started.

I suppose we wont know until he is played somewhat regularly. Its true, the step from underage football to senior level is too much for some players but I think in a team like Chelsea he'd be better served getting 10/15 mins a game given the players he'd play and train with, than say going to a relegation side and playing with 35/40% of the ball for nearly 90mins. Hes one of, if not the best youth player I've seen us produce in sometime, IMO.

He certainly didn't shy away from asserting himself when played with the big boys this season. The attitude and talent are already there, maybe he gets roughed up a bit physically but we can't drag our feet on this one, he's far too good to be playing the reserves and I don't think he'd benefit as much playing somewhere like Vitesse or as mentioned some lower level English side.
July 16, 20188 yr Rumours today that a Premier League club, possibly Chelsea, have bid £45m for Bailey. Getting Willian's replacement lined up perhaps?

July 16, 20188 yr Hope this is not happening - don't want to see the new Raheem Sterling playing for Chelsea. this kid's goals record is totally unimpressive and this is the Bundesliga we are talking about. 8 goals for Genk, 9 goals for Leverkuzen? Really?

Really? 9 in 38 games at 20 years of age isn't that bad for a winger. Are you expecting Messi type numbers from him or something?
