Next Chelsea Manager

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

I don't think Wise has managed since his 1 brief attempt about 10 years ago has he?

No, I don't think since dirty Leeds. So not recently but it's still Dennis Wise so thought he was worth a mention.

Oh, to know what's going on behind the scenes. I mean actually know, rather than all the rumours on social media that seem to have little to do with reality.

Obviously none of us are privy to what is actually going on but I do pray the club have a plan and a good plan at that. Right now, none of the names in the frame fill me with confidence and I would prefer that the club and Conte sit down, sort out their differences and be nice and prepared for the 2018/19 season.

I think Blanc would be an okay option, certainly without the same ego as Enrique.

His teams from those CL battles played good football and beat us twice? when we had a very good squad even if Demba did shin us a win once.

He wouldn't require a total revitalisation of the team either.

That is exactly as I see it. PSG in those games were very tough to play against, they kept ball well, were very aggressive, and were dangerous going forward.

Enrique is a fiery character, I think he will fall out faster with the board and squad quicker than any manager we've had before.

I know your not sold on sarri @Spiller86 but who would be your top 3 candidates if conte gets the boot?

Any news, yet? no?

I'll check back after the World Cup, we might have announced something by then

World cup finishes mid July, don't be silly, the club aren't that organised!! I'm hopeful we might get some information by August,  I presume they have put all footballing matters on hold like the stadium!

Order of preference
1. Sarri
2. Jokanovic
3. Morris
4. Conte
5. Enrique
6. Literal Celery
7. Blanc

Haven't heard of Literal Celery, up and comer that hasn't proven it in a top league I'm guessing?

Would people here be as negative about the potential appointment of Blanc if we were paying money for him? I don't think so. There seems to be a worryingly growing % of people who think that making right decisions is to spend more money and that spending more money equals right decisions.

I guess a lot of clubs feel he's full of hot air as he hasn't had a job in two years.

Mo Sarri

wo oh oh oh

He stayed in Italy as his price tag wasn't free

The board are really tight and they gave the fans a fright

Mo Sarri

wo oh oh oh

Dealing with Napoli was w**k

so we chased up Laurent Blanc

Were no longer in the mix

and we're lucky if we finish sixth

Mo Sarri

wo oh oh oh....

Some people have this handbook i reckon.

1. Is he a big or biggish name? If no moan about how pathetic we are and how amazing our rivals are, if yes carry on.

2. Does he cost more than £30m? If no claim he must be sh*t because of low price and is being forced on the manager, if yes carry on.

3. Does he score a hattrick on his debut? If no declare him a flop while saying a random player on loan is superior and blame the club for not keeping him, if yes wait until his first bad game and do that anyway.

I think Frank Lampard will be a brilliant manager for Derby, he's always conducted himself smartly in the media, offered good insight on television. He actually has a high IQ also for the modern footballer standards.

Hopefully, we can have him at the Bridge again one day if he really proves himself.

I wonder if jt will end up there as well.

Anyway, here is a detailed article on his PSG side for those who can take 10 minutes away from manically waving their arms in panic.

https://spielverlagerung.com/2016/02/12/team-analysis-psg/

He is an interesting option. Although as that article points out they don't know if he is coaching them well or they have great in game intelligence at PSG which would explain their inconsistent positional play. There are also accusations that Blanc doesn't coach his teams and left it to the assistant manager at PSG.

He is a bit controversial though. Been accused of sticking his finger up a girls bum without her permission. We don't need that press at the club.

Be honest man.....we do tend do look utterly leaderless lately. f**k the rumors and media......use your own eyes and logic. Its like the purpose is gone or lost......

Just over a week until the world cup starts now.

Still nothing is clear at any level at the club it seems. United have just signed two players, Liverpool have strengthened greatly and City are about to do the same. Are we planning on competing with those teams? Because right now i just have a sense the whole club has given up.

We don't even have a pre-season planned. One game against Perth in Australia and that's it.

Honestly I think it depends on how much we want to revitalise the squad. As we saw with AVB, there is zero point asking a manager to play attacking, passing high pressing football without the squad to do it.

My fear with a Sarri or Enrique is that we would try and retrofit their style onto our current squad which would be a disaster.

With the style of player we have, my preference would be for someone who has a winning history is defensively solid, flexible tactically and a promoter of youth.

I've said from the start that Simeone is the only manager I would exchange Conte for. Allegri is another one who is close to what I would be looking for. Neither of course look to be leaving their current clubs.

Of those not mentioned so far Conceicao from Porto or Sampaoli are the ones that interest me. That said this summer may come too soon for them.

Blanc could be a good option although the more I've read the more he seems to struggle to change games if his first tactic isn't working.

Sarri remains a high risk appointment for me. His play seems to centre on constant movement off the ball, quick passing in tight areas. That is very hard to do in the Premier League intensity and pressure. You'd have to be defensively very solid because you'd inevitably turn the ball over more and see more counter attacks. I can't see us buying a top class deep-lying playmaker who is defensively solid which is what we would need to implement Sarriball.

This is worse than a transfer window signing. There is no rumours or anything. Not even any reported sightings - nothing!

People are saying I'm overreacting at this, but I don't think I am.

Our rivals are wrapping up deals, we haven't even sorted our manager fiasco out.

We'll leave it until August when we make some last minute deals again and sign some more players that'll need a full season to settle.

If the club really wanted Blanc he would have been appointed already. He's able to start immediately with no compensation to be paid and being out of work for two years will be relatively cheap to employ. He clearly isn't the preferred option.

One thing you should ask yourself, if he's such a fine catch. Why has he been unemployed two years? Football moves on quickly, even in such a short time.
