Next Chelsea Manager

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

Okay, so here is what i got from this, Sarri should be in London any day from wednesday to friday.

An interesting bit here is that he said that Friday is a day to keep in mind( some sort of announcement hopefully), but it's important to notice that this is the first time that Pedulla has stipulated a time frame for his announcement, his article on our pursuit of Rugani says that the announcement is expected within a week, and that Rugani is being chased in order to please Sarri, so this sh*t is getting real this time folks

He never pointed towards any conclusion though, its always been about negotiations, which at this point, have proven to be true.

He never, before today, gave any date as to when it could be announced, people just dont even bother reading the articles anymore

Clearly the press are just throwing mud and seeing what sticks....

Crazy thought... If Conte is staying (my personal preference) does that then why make an anouncement at all? Pre-season will start next week with Conte at the helm... simple

Sarri is probably coming in at the hardest time too. Europa League, and the top 5 (no including us) have gotten stronger, it will be interesting. Can't help but feel like the competition for the league is tougher than it's been since Jose's second stint here. I believe Jose and Conte had the easier ride to the title back then, but now the league is genuinely between at the very least 5 teams (us, Spurs, Utd, City, Liverpool) with Arsenal the outsiders.

Not exactly simple though as the club try to extricate half the team from under the bus that Conte has thrown them on a regular basis. If Conte stays it is because the club do not want to pay or cannot afford his pay off compensation. If that is the case get ready for another mid  table or worse season. A manager that is seeing out his contract at a club he doesn't want to be at, broken relationships with the board, an owner that can't stay in the country where he owns the club, no stadium development, the decent players making a beeline for the exit door or worse, being forced to stay and see out their contracts as well. No signings or mediocre dross only coming in. No game time for the youngsters and most sent back out on loan for another year (RLC already being mooted as going back to Palace for another year)

What a wonderful season to look forward.

Very good point, and let's not lose sight of the fact that the other teams are hardly makeweights any more. Even West Ham are putting money in now. Southampton, Everton, West Ham, Arsenal, Burnley & Leicester will all be tough teams as well. It's probably the toughest league that I can remember in my 50 years. Even when there was no money in the game there never really was more than two or three genuine contenders, with the scouse normally head and shoulders above everyone else (said through gritted teeth)

Arsenal are only stronger by default because of Wenger leaving, their signings so far aren't all that and outside of PSG Emery's league record isn't all that. Spurs haven't strengthened and look set to lose Alderwierld. United are going from Jose season two to Jose season three which in itself is a massive weakner. The only team really having a great transfer window so far is Liverpool, City obviously start from a strong point.

Furthermore i think next seasons a free hit of sorts, while we aren't as far away from being suited to sarri ball as people make out it will take some time to fully implement and keeping up with a fully integrated Pep team is probably too big an ask immediately, without meaning to sound like a Spurs fan the main aim next season is progress in the right direction.

It's us the outsiders I think. Arsenal's got a pretty decent team and with the motivation of Wenger's long anticipated departure, I can easily put them above us right now. It could change, but not until at least we do something on the market.

Spurs also never improves their squad so I don't see them in the title equation. It's rather a top 3 and second top 3 division.

While i very much don't want Conte to stay, we defiantly won't finish midtable.

Another mid table finish? That was a while ago. As bad as things got last season they still managed 5th. Can't see it getting worse as only Cesc and Willi seem to be out on Conte and those two won't likely be around much longer. Hazard would not be too happy to play under Conte again but he knows his big move to Mardid would rest on his performances at least.

I think you're right about this being a hard time to come in but with the style he likes to play he'll find it easier against Liverpool, Spurs and City than most would. I'm still on the Conte bandwagon but Sarri at least has a template to beat the high energy high pressing teams that we'll have to contend with.

Simons johnson now reporting our interest in Rugani, and guess who was the first one to report it? That´s right, Pedulla.

I see now reason at all to doubt him, he has been the tred setter so far this transfer window, and even if we end up not signing Rugani or Sarri, by the mere fact that so many reliable reporters have posted the same updates he did, AFTER he did, proves his reliability
