Maurizio Sarri Officially Appointed

Featured Replies

In the last 5 years

Defensive football, counter attacking football, possesion football...

Managers that have won everything, managers that haven't won a thing

Managers who are strict and disciplined, managers who are more care free

4-2-3-1, 5-2-3, 4-3-3

Every manager we've had in the last years have all gone public to question the players mentality

Every year we constantly yo-yo from looking fantastic to looking like we can't even play football

It doesn't matter what manager we have or what tactics we play.

There is something seriously wrong in our dressing room, sacking Sarri isn't going to solve a single thing. Yeah we may through a mini honeymoon period with a new manager but sh*t will fall apart just like it did for Mourinho and Conte

Mini honeymoon as in winning the league multiple times and other trophies?

I'll have that thank you very much.

Sarri is making it very obvious why he's not won a single trophy in his career. Naive as hell, stubborn, not a good tactician and sucks at motivating his players.

Time to end this project.

As a matter of fact i'd take Jose back in a heartbeat. He'd shape us up.

I agree with those suggest there is a pattern here. You only have to look at tge past 4 seasons and the title win was the exception. If we get rid of Sarri the cycle begins again. Then again if certain players are the issue Sarri needs to drop them. Doesn't matter who they are.

We've made our bed unfortunately.

There was an opportunity with both Mourinho and Conte to stand our ground and support a manager who had proven success, but we decided to stick with this squad of players. A lot of people wanted the manager(s) gone, but I stuck by the both of them to the bitter end.

Now, we have a squad who is emboldened and believes it can down tools when things go pear shaped and we have an inferior manager (one who's never won silverware before) compared to his predecessors.

Whether the problem is the players or the manager or a combination of both, we're in serious trouble.

No doubt we will get a bit more of "I cannot motivate this group of players" after today's game.

:face_palm:

Then he should be sacked on the spot.

I trusted in Sarri, up till the 5th goal/penalty. Sarri out, move on.

We got average players but Sarri is making most of them play through their weaknesses, Azpi shouldn't have been alone there and it wouldn't have been a penalty, when do you see Hazard getting a 1v1 situation like that? You don't.

Sarri out, sack him in the morning.

At this point he's become worse than Villas Boas.

I can take losing and missing out on CL as long as I can see some signs of improvement. This has all the signs of the AVB disaster. But at least AVB was young and inexperienced. Sarri is stubborn and arrogant, and doesn't seem to be willing/able to learn and adapt.

The most sense i’ve seen on here today. The idiots will be out in force tonight.

Tactically just has no idea what he's doing. So many times this season I've watched our front 3 slowly press a back 4, allowing them to easily pass into the spaces they vacate, because the team is not pressing as a whole. So many times I've seen teams utterly cut us open through the middle, down the wings, in every position they possibly can. Time after time we see that this system is just not working against the good sides, but time after time he persists and changes nothing. In the space of a week we've broken our record for biggest ever PL defeat TWICE.

The man is a fraud and I want him and half the players out.

Stick with Sarri and rip this team apart and rebuild it. In no fecking way did his tactics cause this mess.

Did you not watch our attempts at pressing the ball? Or the amount of space City had whenever they wanted it? What did Sarri do to address any of that, except make like-for-like subs?
