Unfortunately Portuguese goalkeeper, Quim, retired at the end of the last season. We could have gone for the hat-trick. 

Pickford is apparently number 1 choice to replace Courtois according to SSN.

Can't see Everton selling, Maguire is now apparently an £80m defender off the back of that world cup, so I can see Everton valuing him at at least double the £30m they paid last year. 

Maybe they would take cash plus a player, but I don't think this has any legs personally.

That's the worst part about World Cup years. A decent player has a great run of form and all the sudden he's rated as one of the world's best players when he isn't anywhere near that quality.

But he didn't even have a great run of form,  he just didn't f**k up  too much and ran forward a lot against the less good teams we played.  Played pretty piss poor against Belgium, I think

Everton have to reason to sell Pickford, he’s got years left on his contract and they’re cash rich. 

No way is he leaving.

I didn't mean Maguire specifically (I didn't see much of the England matches due to work), I was more speaking in generalities, but it speaks to how the World Cup inflates prices. It's going to be the same for Pickford, who Chelsea are linked with now. Everton are going to want probably around £80M for him or just say straightup "No." At that price, just pay Oblak's 100M buyout and get the better keeper.  Granted, its never THAT easy.

Maguire for that much mone is an instant sell really. 

It has to burst at some point.

 

As for our next goalie, my preference (Pope) got injured last night, seems a nasty one unfortunately.

 

Who knows who we'll have in goal come the first game of the season. I have a feeling we'll all be unpleasantly surprised...

If we’re going down the home grown keeper route I’d rather Butland over Pickford purely because of price and ease of negotiations. Pope unfortunately picked up a shoulder injury. 

Like said above, if we’re paying stupid money we may as go for Oblak.
