We've got a new Kepa

He's on insane wages with a massive long contract.

He could sit on the bench for 5 years. No one will come close to what we're paying him,

yup, we would get more money trying to salvage the burned notes than we would off a transfer for him right now.

I really really hope that Caballero starts in goal for us on Sunday. It is sad that Kepa fails to exude any level of confidence in his abilities and that without him, we would be in a lot better shape. Liverpool and City are the only clubs that have scored more goals than us, yet only 7 clubs have worse goal prevention that Chelsea: Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham, Aston Villa, Watford, Bournemouth and Norwich. Absolutely disgraceful. We've conceded nearly 20 more goals in the premier league than Leicester and United.

Kepa could be the single biggest reason we fail to qualify for Champions League football.

The annoying thing about the Kepa deal is how late we left it to sign Tibo’s replacement knowing that he was off to Madrid. Tibo was never going to sign a contract and we didn’t act quickly enough therefore getting stung in the transfer market.

It was the overpowered players at the club. Part of it is up to Frank and the rest of the legends tho.

Anyway, we could have benched Courtois and leave him rot and in two-three weeks he would have put it together and finish the season. Would have not been surprise if he had extended the contract after, happens often in this type of situations.

The funniest thing is that he sold this whiny little B Thibaut and replaced him with even bigger one.

he's like a glitched fifa player or soemthing

Wstching them all together really hits home how bad he is.

Whats the over-under on bones and/or muscle being found in his wrist-area if he did an x-ray?

Greater chance of finding mozzarella sticks in there i think.

Seems like he is receiving a lot of abuse which is rather unfortunate.

I was reading earlier he’s apparently getting death threats?! Blows my f**king mind that. Why you’d send anyone death threats let alone a footballer and even more so a footballer who plays for the team you support!

Disgusting if it’s true (I’ve not seen them personally which is why I say if true - but it wouldn’t surprise me if it has happened)

I'm afraid that this was it for him at Chelsea.

I thought he could develop into one of the world's best when he signed, but since that conflict with Sarri I totally lost faith in him. You just can't behave like that on a professional level, you have to show respect for your manager regardless of what you think about him.

He's made too many mistakes this season and now his confidence seems lower than ever. The real question is who could be the replacement, and who would risk and buy Kepa at this moment...

It's not that surprising. Twitter allows any weirdo to say what they want.

Dumb people being dumb

Never seen a keeper concede so many bangers

For those who follow cricket its abit like a batsman getting castled and making deliveries look better than they actually are by having technical deficiencies especially on balls coming into them. With Kepa its a similar issue, he does this silly little jump before diving for the long range shots and this delay is costing him milliseconds hence he is always ever so slightly late on the saves, plus what is up with his wrists how many shots does he get to without actually keeping them out.

we live in clown world unfortunately.

due to this social media crap 24/7 people dont know how to interact with eachother anymore...because most interaction is now behind a screen instead of face to face people think they can(and i guess they do) get away with being a total dick all the time. This makes people say(type) things they would normally not even fathom uttering aloud.

its the ultimate freedom of speech with very little to no consequence.

As for Kepa, i do think he sucks - stand by that...however as time is going by i am beginning to feel for him. His job is much to do with confidence and his actual physical work is lacking it BIGTIME, the personal threats and bad press and social media frenzy will have his mental confidence completely shot.

i genuinely hope he can move on from this and rediscover the form that had him valued as the most expensive keeper ever.

just with another club.

Unfortunately it wasn't down to form. It was panic, like jumping off a cliff when you think you are being chased by a bear panic.

Zidane vetoed buying Kepa for 13 million just six months before we paid what we did for him.

If we are signing just one player (after Havertz of course) I say we should buy a new keeper. We can live with our centerbacks and leftbacks I think but with Kepa we can't. I've lost all hope on him. Our defenders don't trust him and opponents come to face us with great hope as they know Kepa will allow goals to go in.

Now this is not the first Spaniard to come in with a big money and after a while crumbled mentally. Kepa is not fit to guard our goal.

Defending is a mental thing also and with a keeper who can't save a penny let alone his goal is not a good basis for a sturdy defence.

hmm tough choice.

i may lean in the direction of buying a world class defender who can lead the line and get everyone organized and toil on with Willy in net.

Zouma/rudy/christiansen cant be our only CBs next year in my opinion.

Is willy still in the argentina squad?

What? You mean he's getting paid to play like that every game?

Club missed a great opportunity to furlough him and keep him on furlough until making him redundant like many business's are doing right now.

Frank was asked whether he sees Kepa as their number one in the future as well. He totally dismissed that question with a political answer. Make it what you will but I think he didn't want to get on Kepa's side and in a month sell him or replace him.

Sums it up, but in honesty I'm not sure there is a thing he does well. Awful/non entity in the air. Poor shot stopper. It still boggles my mind that we paid a fifth of the price we did.

First priority for the summer in my book.
