The team I’d like to see

Bulka

Zappacosta Christensen Cahill Emerson

Barkley Ampadu RLC

CHO Morata Pedro

I expect we’ll see the midfield trio of RLC Fabregas Kovacic and a front three of Willian Giroud and Pedro.

I’m starting to become increasingly worried about the opportunities afforded to our younger players, games like tonight should be essential in their development. Hopefully we see at least two of RLC/Ampadu/CHO start the game.

Team selection aside I expect a victory to nil by a narrow margin. Uninspired at the moment!

I really like Giroud, he's not full of sh*t like other footballers, no excuses from him, and you could see a bit of passion from him on Saturday when he came on and scored. Must start our premier league games from now on, let Morata play his best position (bench)

As I see it, the last 2 group games are training games where we should give the youth a go, and get some players back in form. I have no idea about the starting 11 will be, hope Cahil/Christensen/Barkley/RLC etc put up strong performances to push for a starting spot in the must win game on Sunday. If Sarri is working on a plan B, this is the game to try it out.

We have a golden opportunity here to use this game for some future recourse. I see a few options:

- Use the game to give gametime to younger players who haven't had much of a chance, e.g. Christensen, Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, Ampadu, arguably Emerson;

- Use the game to rest some (or even all) of the first XI, and get some of the backup squad to a better state of match fitness before a hectic schedule of fixtures during which rotation will be wholly necessary;

- Use the game to experiment a little with new ideas in lieu of the humiliating defeat at the weekend and horrifying lack of alternative strategies.

I'd love to see Ampadu start in the "Jorginho role", as I think it'd suit him perfectly, but I think Sarri sees him more as a centre-back which is a shame. He'll end up playing Cesc there. Surely CHO has to start this one!? I'd be really disappointed if he doesn't.

He can do the Luiz role minus the defensive lapses. That’d be lovely ::clap2::

if Giroud & Morata can each score 10 EPL goals this season, I would say it's a success - just remember when we had true #9's like Jimmy, The Great DD or DC - Chelsea were Champions (ok almost Champions with Jimmy :Troll_Face:)

@Valerie are you still sober?

Wha?

Am at the Butchers Hook enjoying their brew :smile: In the meantime, there is a family crisis going on back home, so it's hard to get in the Blue mood.

Chelsea haven’t announced the line up yet?

The lineup is almost always available before the club announces it.  Guys on Twitter always post it 10-15 minutes before the club announces.  Simon Phillips, Alex Goldberg, etc.

10 changes from the weekend just like the Gooners today away in the war zone (paying dividends for them currently)

very pleased to see CHO & RLC get a start, lets hope this line up can make amends for the Spuds debacle

COME ON CHELSEA !!

Compare and contrast the Arsenal starting XI and subs bench to ours tonight.

No idea why we’re not taking a similar stance of playing a lot of youngsters.

You can see it now, come the 55th minute CHO gets subbed off for Willian.

A game like this would be great for a young striker to get some minutes.

EDIT: This isn’t unique to Sarri but just Chelsea’s approach in general to youth/academy players.

Overheard conversation in the MHL concourse: "Where did you lovebirds meet, in a pub?"  "In a coffeeshop."  "f**k offffff."
